The game is done: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6823

One of those games that happens a few times a season when things don’t go right for the players and the numbers are low.

Cory got the $2000 clue that ended the DJ! round or David would have been playing solo for the FJ! round. Kelly negged that same clue or she could have played the FJ! round. Either way David was going to win.

The opening for today showed Chuck Forrest, and Alex in USC Trojan gear. Will there be a fourth different opening tomorrow or will it recycle back to Monday’s one? Time will tell.

The FJ! category had me write five precalls: Webster, Fremont, Clay and a couple of Alamo guys. I was close to adding the correct response and stopped as my mind considered him 18th century.

The FJ! clue had me write the correct guy, put the pen down, and I spent think time assuring myself there was no reason to switch to Mr. Chapman.

Tomorrow should or better be above 17,200 combined Coryat and five clues not seen. Under/over 13 TS? Who knows?

Kelly had fun and in a year’s time she should try out for any of the myriad of ABC game shows as I can imagine the hosts liking her as much as Alex must have today. That is if she doesn’t have too many connections in the business: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2357157/

Kids today don't know the songs from old TV.

Davy
Dave Ferrara
King of the wild, front...lectern.

#GotNothin'

Broke my streak on this one, since I knew Crockett died at the Alamo, which was 1836.

Three Californians couldn't come up with Portland, ME or Red River of the North
Navajo was an odd category. Got the bottom two clues but not the top three. :?
:D :D :D on daily doubles.
J! players should know Davy Crockett died at the Alamo, later than 1820.

I knew Crocket died later at the Alamo so I got it right. I knew Boone lived to be pretty old but I thought he died much later. Turns out he was born in 1734.

I was hoping Cory wouldn’t get the last clue right so we’d have a solo FJ. Kelly was certainly an interesting person. I pity the TSA agent interrogating her for suspicion of smuggling drugs in a dinosaur.

You think Kelly will use footage of this game for an audition, the outcome notwithstanding?

Coryat $37,600 (43R, 1W)
DD 3/3
FJ

LT $9800 = 4th podium victory with the FJ get

Ultra slow game, but at least we got to enjoy three country music concerts in the middle there. :| Can't say I was fan of Kelly's constant interjections.

I stunk up the joint in the J! round - TV and fashion are always killers for me, and went 3/5 in geography when normally it's a wheelhouse - but redeemed myself in DJ by going 24/28. Instaget FJ, but I spent the last 29.9 seconds trying to figure out if there was some other early Kentucky figure I wasn't thinking about.

12/12 on bonus clues so far this season, so can't complain...

That popped out to me, too. If that were an FJ and someone wrote down, "Who is Barry?", would everyone be up in arms if it were counted wrong? I sure wouldn't.

We had clues about To Kill a Mockingbird and Johnny B Goode, both of which got mentioned in discussing yesterday’s game.

I'd like to thank the Academy (of Country Music Awards) for helping me eke out a 4th podium win. Congrats to David for his victory and to Cory for a delightful run at the champ's podium!

Went wayyyy too fast on DD3 and blurted out translators. Bad miss considering the term was in the news during the whole Redskins Football Team deal.

My scores were much higher than last year's averages over this week's first two games; like you, this J! round promptly put me back in my place.

Judges: wind talkers for code talkers?

I know its the title of the movie, but is it still technically correct? Maybe a BMS, I'm not sure.

Man, there were a lot of negs in DJ! that I got tripped up on, along with the contestants. I don't know why, but "code breaker" instead of "code talker" came to my mind too, even though I had 100% heard of code talkers. I'd accept "windtalker", as that was another name by which they were known. In fact, I knew of "code talker" from seeing that in the description of the movie "Windtalkers", an early 2000s movie that I always used to see as I was scanning movie channels for movies to record.

I almost got fooled by adobe, but kept my finger off the trigger - I knew "adobe" wasn't a $2000 clue.

My first instinct was Paul Bunyan, but I knew he was fictional. I did briefly think of Colonel Sanders, but also only as a joke - didn't seem to quite fit. I went to Crocket, not even thinking of Boone.

I love a little bit of levity - while old school hockey fans might be aghast at new things like Gritty, I embrace the lunacy like that. However, Kelly just didn't quite sit right with me. A little bit goes a long way....but I'm sure others enjoyed her, and to that I say more power to her and to them.

I hope that players like Kelly are not the direction the producers want to take the show. As TalkingAwauy posted, a little goes a long way.. :o

Personally, I would say that urging another player to go TDD crosses the line into unsportsmanlike conduct. Sorry, but she would be a good fit on a lot of other game shows.
