Geography is a wheelhouse, yet I bombed both FJs.

No auditions yet for me, soon I hope.

Clammed on the diamond because I thought I would butcher the pronunciation.
Can't remember if Glenn was at my audition in Denver 2017 or not.

I am not happy. I don't have the trivia retention to be able to pass the Jeopardy! test (as evidenced by my performance on the last three clues polled) and I usually come nowhere near sweeping a week of Final Jeopardy!s.

And the only reason I didn't do it this week was because, as soon as the music began, I said, "I assume Australia doesn't count for the purposes of this question?" I got my wires crossed and mistook "Australia is considered a continent, not a country" for "Australia is considered a continent, not an island." It came to me too quickly, so I sat and thought and answered Argentina instead.

Grr.

Said Grant, realized it was Hayes too late to reasonably say I corrected myself in time.

Never been to an audition/taping.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Should have thought harder after arriving at Algeria...
Roman orator = Cicero is Pavlov. I suppose 1876 = Hayes should be too...

Puerto Rico on Thursday. My thinking was that Cuba was too close and probably just had the one language, and all the other nearby places I could think of just weren't big enough. I failed to think of Hispaniola.

As I recall, my one audition was run by Tony Pandolfo and Maggie (no recollection on who was there when I took the test in the studio in 2005 and got dismissed, except that Jon Cannon of the Clue Crew made an appearance). I think Glenn probably ran a practice game at my taping and/or my stint as an alternate, so I voted for that even though I'm not positive.

I knew the Koh-i-Noor is originally from India but didn't know it's name is Persian.

Glenn ran my St. Louis audition in June of 2018.
I would prefer not to.

I could've picked Koh-i-Noor out of a list, but all I could come up with at the time was 'K', 'i', 'oor' and the two dashes.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Don't cry for me, Argentina. I read that clue and jumped on the enormous South American country so fast that I never, ever bothered to think of an alternate.

I take some consolation: even though Argentina is only about one-third the land area of Australia, it seems like a much closer contest when you look at the list of largest nations. My source says Australia is #6, while Argentina is close behind at #8. So, "just a little off."

Imagine how much that makes me feel better.

FJ is killing me this season. I came in at about 70% for the whole of last season, down to about 50% in the early going this time. Gotta eat my mental Wheaties.
