TD 453 - Quiz Bowl [Final results]

Post by clt013 »

This TD is titled "Quiz Bowl" and the questions are (at least loosely) based on the names of bowl games in which the Iowa Hawkeyes have played. (Note: This is yet another TD which I put together months ago and had planned for October - which now seems like an appropriate time since the Big 10 football season is scheduled to start on the 24th. Then again, based on all the 'jinxes' contained in my "2020" TD from earlier this year, the publication of this quiz probably ensures the season will be scrapped before it starts.)

Rules/Notes
1) Lowest point total wins; your score for each question is equal to the total number of players submitting that same answer
2) You may use one drop and take zero points for one question
3) You may elect to take the "sheep" (most popular) answer for one question
4) Wrong responses are the "sheep" answer +4
5) All answers are due by 8 AM Central time on Monday, October 19, 2020
6) If you need clarification on a clue, want to verify your responses or have other questions please PM me. If you're not sure something is a correct answer, don't use it.
7) No cheating (Google key, etc.)
8) Submit answers via this Google form or PM

The description on the Google Form doesn't appear to match the question above.

Above: Name a current MLB stadium that has ever hosted a NCAA bowl game or NHL regular season game.

Google Form: Current NFL stadium to host a college bowl game and/or NHL regular season game.

Which is it? :)

It should be MLB - I corrected the form.

The only NFL stadium ever to host College Bowl was the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome back when the University of Minnesota and Ohio State were the finalists for the National College Bowl trophy. Those Ohio State players thought it was grotesquely unfair that the Minnesota team had the home-field advantage. That being said, Ohio State won the trophy by correctly answering a 50 point bonus about interstate highways.

I seem to recall them filling the Metrodome with fans eager to see the College Bowl game.

I noticed that bonus question issue before publishing and thought it had been corrected because there were a couple of responses and no mention of a problem. Then I was informed that the form was again requiring a number for the bonus question.

Hopefully it is really fixed now.

Sorry for the error and any confusion caused.

I can't believe you picked 37, because I absolutely would've sheeped us both by also choosing 37. No BS. I always pick 37, it's my favorite number and has a lot of interesting properties.
