Nancy can look to any of her incorrect responses where she lost the game although her lack of pluralization in POE "M" would be a good one to rue.

I guess being a software engineer does not mean automatic victory on J!

Joe's place of regret is of course DD3 as $2000 box or not, he should have got it.

Today was the first time for Kristin to get a DD clue right as well as correctly solving the FJ! clue to get a winning total that more than doubled her 2-day total.

The FJ! category had me precall, "Call me Ishmael" and "children of the night" before stopping as I decided it was either going to be something easy or something hard. My expectation was not something middle ground that I would not know at first glance but would get within 30 seconds.

Easy is fine by me to maintain a perfect record on Mondays.

I liked the progression on FIRST LADIES as many should be able to get the first four while getting the sweep required being a level up to actually prove you know something about the subject.

It's complete: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6847

16 TS though you can win from the 4th podium with just six of them and solving the FJ! clue.

Both Reddit and The Jeopardy! Fan have mentions of this champ: http://www.j-archive.com/showplayerstat ... er_id=8196

as that Kristin only had $17,498 for her opening three wins.

Funny that popping in for your online birthday celebration last month had a spoiler for today's FJ! clue as I needed to know the magic words to join the group.

Terrible J! round for me. 0/5 in Poe "M" and Play, and 9R 3W. Even worse in DJ! with 4R 1W. All of that Lach Trash, and I got none of it.

I thought "masquerade" was MASSIVE negbait in Poe "M" $200.

I was also 9001% certain that it was "Murder" in the Rue Morgue. The neg completely rattled me and left me wondering what else it could possibly be.

"Headphones" also seemed like epic negbait on Novel for $1000. WHY DO I ALWAYS BITE ON NEGBAIT LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE TIME KJLSFDHSDKLJF

Also picked ME over VT on the 15th state.

I usually do well on animal categories, but apparently primates are a blind spot as I went 0/5 there. Also 0/5 in Movies and Europe.

This FJ should poll well over 90%. I needed it after going 1/5 last week.

Nancy will rue her misstep in the Poe category. The WAG of Eleanor Roosevelt was also unfortunate. I got that one. Interesting category. Four softballs and then a killer.

Coryat $37,400 (45R, 0W)
DD 3/3
FJ

Unusually "balanced" game for me: only ran three categories, and didn't miss more than two in any. Couldawouldashoulda had movies $2000 but couldn't pull it fast enough. Poll request on First Ladies $2000... that seems pretty deep in the presidential trivia canon.

Kids' Week FJ. Glad to see Kristin walk away from this game with a five-digit amount of cash!

"Bose speakers" just seems like a phrase that goes together. I know they make other products, but it just seemed easy to me. *shrug*

I can't believe I got stumped on FJ!. Two word phrase from Arabian Knights? Ugh. For some reason, I was going "Abrakadabra" and "Alakazam".

Remand caught me too; Alex didn't quite give an accurate reason for the neg. Honestly, I wasn't too sure of the definition, and I didn't know it was legal, but it apparently means to put a defendant either into custody after a trial (ie he was remanded to jail), or to send a case back to a lower court. So, not only was it legal and not military - it doesn't mean to contradict a prior order.

Annoyed at myself from the tarsier clue, as I said "occipital", not noting that they already gave "cortex" in the clue.

As a result of the annoyances, I gave myself credit for "Onassis" even though she was definitely "Kennedy" when she gave a tour of the White House. Sally Field plus "insane" had me ignoring the category and going for Sybil...which surprisingly is canon even though it's a TV movie.

Went a little too deep and said Lascaux instead of Cro-Magnon for DD3. Shoulda been more careful.

Has anybody used the Bose sunglasses? If they're speakers rather than headphones, doesn't the sound spill out? Even if they work perfectly, I'm not convinced that, as the slogan has it, Bluetooth® sunglasses are what [my] life is missing...

Ah, got it. So the key fact was "absurdly young First Lady". Adding that one to the knowledge base, because it does seem to get a lot of play from the writers.
