Hah! Until the Senate nukes the filibuster, it may be premature to sweat the constitutional details.

Let’s be honest, if DC was a GOP stronghold, Republicans would be leading the charge for statehood as Democrats tried to stop them.

Could a president claim his official residence as 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Could you imagine if in the last election you heard “With a final tally of 2-0, DC gives its three votes to Donald Trump”.

I guess they could pass a law making it illegal to claim residency in DC, but the three electoral votes would still be there.
It would be pretty hard to find three electors with a population of 2.

Well, Article 2 of the Constitution says the President can't be one, so you need at least two dogs.

Her leading performance wins were for Nomadland, Fargo, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Her three supporting nominations were for Mississippi Burning, Almost Famous, and North Country. (I just noticed that all six of her nominations were for films whose titles contained a real or fictional place name.)
Probably a dumb question, but what is the place name in Almost Famous?

And the ratings from the Oscars went from 23 million to 10 million.
At that rate, not even Cinemaniax will watch next year!

My goof. And it's my favorite of her movies, too.

I know Collins didn't walk on the moon, but how many men who have walked on the moon are still alive? I know Armstrong and Shepard are both deceased.

Of the 12 who have walked on the Moon, four are still alive:

Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11)
David Scott (Apollo 15)
Charles Duke (Apollo 16)
Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17)

Harrison Schmitt has a legit claim to be the last person to walk on the Moon, Eugene Cernan's docu-bio title notwithstanding.

Wouldn't it be clear cut? One of them had to be the last person back into the module.

If you've ever seen interviews of the two of them, it was a running joke they had their whole lives. Cernan was last into the module, but he was only the 11th person to set foot on the Moon, whereas Schmitt was the 12th. Hence, Schmitt, like Cernan, claimed to be the last man on the Moon.

At the very least, Schmitt is the last last man on the Moon.

Last man to first set foot on the moon or last man to leave the moon, conceivably different things!

Or, last man on the moon vs last man off the moon
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Speaking of Michael Collins, I just chanced upon this old Celebrity game in the Archive where his crewmate Buzz Aldrin Clavined himself out of the win.

https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=3011

Fortunately, it didn't matter to his charity, because all three charities got $10,000.
