Has Katie Couric said she wouldn't take the job? Wondering why she's not on this list since, as far as I know, she has no other full-time job. Unlike Anderson Cooper (with a nightly CNN show he usually anchors from the East Coast and a 60 Minutes gig), or arguably, Mayim Bialek (depending perhaps on how many episodes have been ordered for her sitcom).Robert K S wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 1:45 pm So by order of averages from among people who probably would take the job:
- Buzzy 8.59 (68 responses)
- Ken 8.09 (78 responses)
- Aaron 7.88 (89 responses)
- Anderson 7.77 (73 responses)
- Mayim 7.74 (85 responses)
- Mike 6.61 (76 responses)
- LeVar 4.64 (59 responses)

Thank you. "I don't think so" is not a ringing renunciation, but I'll accept it. It seems so long ago, but I thought she did one of the better jobs of the early hosts.tddeveryday wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 4:25 pm"Katie Couric reveals why she wouldn't want to host 'Jeopardy!' full time"

Did they not include Buzzy in the poll? Seems very odd…Robert K S wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 9:53 pm https://www.pennlive.com/entertainment/ ... ently.html

It appears that, although all of the hosts were polled, numbers for those who didn't poll in the top-10 weren't reported on, given that Faber's numbers are mentioned in passing as part of the poll's press release without the data thereof having been noted anywhere else in the numbers.cthulhu wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:54 pmDid they not include Buzzy in the poll? Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
That link to the press release says the poll was taken in July. Anybody want to explain how they managed to poll about how Faber did when he wasn't on yet?

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
By giving his name? There was no requirement for participants to have seen any of the hosts. They asked how Burton did, evidently because the poll was conducted the day after his debut. Only 73% of respondents had seen him.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread
Actually, less than that. Only 45% actually saw his debut, while 28% saw clips. But 80% rated him good or great with 2% saying he was bad or terrible.
Now, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But who are these people? He didn’t get 80% good or great on here. I also read a lot of Facebook and YouTube comments and he didn’t score 80% on there, either.

If we're cherry-picking hosts from former contestants, I want to know if Barrett Block is available. That kid had camera-ready charisma as a teen and no doubt would bring a sense of competence and accountability to the role.Bamaman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:46 am Another candidate emerges.

It was a trip down memory lane to read my reaction to Barrett as well as others still around here or those no longer posting: viewtopic.php?p=58279#p58279squarekara wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 11:18 amIf we're cherry-picking hosts from former contestants, I want to know if Barrett Block is available. From his Twitter and LinkedIn it looks like he graduated from law school, was a clerk to a district court judge in his home state of Kentucky, is a practicing attorney, and is president of a jewelry store chain and a firearm wholesale distributor (I gather the latter two businesses are related--basically, pawnbroking).

The more I watch Faber's hosting skills, the more LeVar's week smells. Did he truly go in without prep? Did TPTB just do a cold open with him. This thing is definitely not like the other things me
