Went on a senior trip to Ocean City, Md. in high school and that centered me for the FJ solve. I was very worried it would be another part of the Delmarva.

Am I the only one who was floored at how quickly the contestants got the "Countries' Translated Names" clues? I had barely finished reading, let alone attempt a translation, and they had already rung in and moved on.

I was struck by "in the navel of the moon" - Mexico - never heard that before - and Lichtenstein was a smart get, but the rest of them weren't hard.

This was one of those Finals where having a coloring book of the United States as a kid really helped. I remember distinctly what a hassle it was to color in all of Maryland with all of its nooks and crannies. There was a lot of green in the Chesapeake when I was through with it.

I remember having a problem with this clue for that sort of reason but since here they gave such very different numbers for "shoreline" and "coastline", the actual numbers were weren't so important. I was briefly confused as to whether "coastline on the Atlantic" meant "not counting its gulf coast", but i guess you can always talk yourself into confusion if you try. This Is Kirk! wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 12:17 am Wow, I'm surprised no one has yet remarked on the inherent problem of measuring coastline length.

I goofed w/ Rhode Island. Another great game this week for the contestants!

It's the end of the journey that counts.

Surprised myself by running Nonfiction. Also ran Ends with "TH" and got all but Aristotle in Squid.
I could have stared at "Land of the angles" for a day and never come up with England.
Pritchett's Closets & Blinds = Modern Family seemed like an awfully deep cut for the top box. I thought Central Perk = Friends should have been $400 there.
For some reason, I always conflate D-Day and Pearl Harbor day, and can never disentangle them in my brain.
Let's see, Maryland is tiny, but gets a crapton of aquatic real estate because of Chesapeake Bay, so I'll try that.

Morgan sure didn't put much preasure on John in that Final. There wasn't any reason not to bet at least $5999.
I went with New Hampshire, because it's similar to asking about the shortest coastline on Lake Michigan. Didn't bother to think of anything else.
In hindsight, I realize over 3,000 miles in estuary & tributaries would not be logical for NH.

I was rooting for Myles. I think I’ve seen/met him at that Las Vegas Trivia thing plus he’s either hosted or contested on The Experts. Easy FJ. My sister went to college in Chestertown & some of my other sisters have lived in Columbia.

Not if you misread the clue like I did -- 320 miles makes Rhode Island plausible. 3200 rules it out, but not if you don't read it correctly until time is up.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
