Aaron worked in a Turd Ferguson reference when Brandon had Burt Reynolds as part of his chat.

Brandon is handling his business with 5/5 on wagering clues.

Another miss for me on the FJ! clue as the category had me thinking something about the space race or Watergate.

The FJ! clue had me failing the simple path of someone unexpectedly becoming president and instead I interpreted the hot cabin as a polio treatment.

As soon as I saw the non-crossed out response by Chris it was the awful aha moment of, "Oh, that kind of cabin".

Tomorrow has board member DisneyFor2000Alex playing, so if it's not the breaking of the curse for trouble winning three games then it could be, yay boardie. It's not Slam's rule since Amy joined in May 2019.

Yesterday, I could not get a TV FJ! clue right and today it was presidents. At this point I'm expecting to miss something about sports tomorrow. Or, I'll get something right about word origins, business or Shakespeare.

Aaron says a lot of the right things at the right time. It's the way he says them that could use improvement. He does not need to be Terry Crews on WWTBAM or AGT, but it would be helpful if the host could pep it up just a hair. It's an easy fix and does not take years of TV hosting experience. The shave and a haircut can wait since it's only two weeks.

Much better performance today. Biggest improvement from the first to second day I have seen.

Had I been on the show, the judges would have had to squint at my screen. I matched Chris by starting with T. Roosevelt and then figured it out right at the end and crossed out Teddy and scribbled LBJ. The middle letter sort of looks like a B.

Because of all the fuss over Aaron Rodgers, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the current champ is really, really good. I'm rooting for him.

Bleah. I thought of that while the music was still going. But I felt and feel that the cabin of a plane is not A cabin, it's THE cabin. Learn to write, Robert Caro.

Took about 5 seconds to realize aircraft cabin, but obviously that led to the correct person.

played from the archive, streaming was glitching in and out.
runs: lots of 4/5s, but no runs.
DDs: :D :D :| (also fell for Daniel Boone),
trash: tupelo, curvew, John Carter, awful,
FJ: went with Teddy, figuring a literal cabin. :(
jeers to the contestants for running away from biochem. :x

I also have a connection to Kenny Rogers. The day after my Wheel audition that got me on the show, my sister and I went to see him in Detroit. I didn't get to sing with him though.

Aaron must have had another coffee after the first episode, because he seemed a bit more lively today.

Didn't see a single hint in this FJ! either.

I take back my initial praise of Aaron yesterday. His delivery is putting me to sleep...I don't know what level of excitement I want in a host, I don't want Mike Richards excitement, that I know.

Never watched a western? Check out Red River on Turner Classic Movies later this month, and you'll get a mini education on Abilene and the Chisholm Trail and see a fine film to boot.

I thought Rodgers did much better today, unless I’m getting just used to him.

I never would have connected a sweltering cabin to an aircraft. I went with Teddy Roosevelt, figuring he was on a hunting trip somewhere when McKinley died.

hot and dim was supposed to lead to the interior of a plane? i was thinking of some cabin with no electricity.
Fell for Daniel Boone.

Was confused about Texas being in the Midwest/Abilene clue.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was from Abilene, Kansas, and is buried there.

I wonder if anyone on the boards matched my wrong FJ to match Erin's. It's famous history near here. In 1901, Teddy was in the Adirondacks when McKinley was shot. He was staying there, and eventually began a frantic midnight trip to Buffalo. I never considered that "cabin" referred to an airplane.

Last time I flew (a long time ago now) we did an emergency landing at CVG and had to wait 6 hours for a part to come in from Atlanta. I hated the experience at the time, but it helped me make the sweltering cabin = aircraft connection.

Who needs movies? Study the presidents! Dwight Eisenhower grew up in and retired to Abilene, KS...

Not that studying the presidents worked out for me tonight.
TR was at Lake Champlain in 1901 when McKinley was shot, and in a "cottage" in the Adirondacks days later when McK "took a turn." So it's not unreasonable to think that he might have been in a cabin when he started his presidency. But he actually made it to Buffalo before he knew that McK was dead.
A tricky clue, depending on the correct understanding of the word cabin. I suppose a rustic hunting cabin in 1901 might not have had window shades...?...
