For alliterative purposes purely. I probably would have said "tremolo" otherwise. I am glad to have your correction. I hope Jeopardy!, in asking for another name of the whammy bar, would not neg "vibrato".

Actually, my thought when the picture was displayed was, "Well, that looks pretty opalescent to me."MattKnowles wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:06 pmIf anybody has a trick I'll second the request for secrets.twelvefootboy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:58 pm Can any boardies divulge their secret to getting this? I can't keep Onyx, Agate, and Opal straight, but the Onyx I've seen is amazingly beautiful.
...
Opal is iridescent. Onyx looks shiny.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

If opals are opalescent and pearls are pearlescent then are onyxes onyxescent?

No worries. I appreciate the correction. Gotta remember to read these clues more carefully.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 3:14 pmNot to make you feel worse, but...tddeveryday wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 2:54 pm If you can remember that Newton's most famous equation was Force = mass times acceleration, then it's a multiple choice of three. I chose mass because I am a science idiot.
Modern formulations of Newton’s 2 most famous equations both begin with this quantity that’s measured in Newtons
I'm terrible at science, but I do take pride in at least knowing F = ma off the top of my head.
My lucky numbers are 6, 66, and 666.

It looks like the last time was February 12 (Ken #25, with an assist from Dr. Markaisa Black), and before that was October 6 (this time, Ken was the guest presenter). It happened in back-to-back episodes in September 2018 but only once between May 2015 and May 2017. On April 3 of last year, the rightmost 15 clues were played first in both the J and DJ rounds.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 1:40 pm The first segment was categories 4-6 completed and that looked unusual on my scoresheet. cheezguyty, when was the last time that happened?

For $1200 and $1600 the Emmy win and the HBO show probably helped more people get to the right responses than the movies.Volante wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 8:00 pmOne day you'll give in and install the pop culture module just to doom us all.LucarioSnooperVixey wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 7:54 pm 57 R (Missed the Bottom Three in Doing Movies & TV. I'd be surprised if the Emmy win was more helpful to more people. Emmy winners in the guest stars category doesn't seem like common knowledge.davey wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:00 pmFor $1200 and $1600 the Emmy win and the HBO show probably helped more people get to the right responses than the movies.Volante wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 8:00 pmOne day you'll give in and install the pop culture module just to doom us all.LucarioSnooperVixey wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 7:54 pm 57 R (Missed the Bottom Three in Doing Movies & TV. Unbreakable with Bruce Willis is pretty well known. It was one of M. Night Shyamalan's first films before they went way downhill. It ended up being a prequel for Glass and Split which also makes it relevant nowadays.

I was thinking more of the kind of people who memorize facts like Emmy winners. To me it was a nice supplement to the movie name helping me to solidify the right choice. No question Unbreakable is far from an obscure movie. Though I never thought Shyamalan went that far uphill, so...MattKnowles wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:24 pmI'd be surprised if the Emmy win was more helpful to more people.
