Re: Tuesday, April 20, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Will Hammer get his buddy in the PLANET SHAMING clue today?
Logan took a long time to get the hang of the buzzer and I suspect he would have done much better tomorrow if he could have returned with a game's worth of experience.
Logan made me smile with his mention of Garrett popcorn as I have a cousin who lives in Illinois and sends a giant tin at the holidays. That caramel corn is excellent and the cheese and buttered varieties are better than average.
The FJ! category had me expecting Italy, Germany or France.
The FJ! clue had me quickly recalling the J27 clue from this old game I recently entered: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6998
Even without that fortunate bit of coincidence I would have known what to write as the place has been a game show staple as long as I've been watching quiz shows.
I wanted Mike to take a crack at DJ30 to try for the lead, but it worked in his favor to be in a 2nd place position today.

Figures Decriminalization would be an answer on 4/20.

NYC game interrupted by Presidential speech.

And my losing streak continues. Can't say the correct response rings any bells.

Re: Tuesday, April 20, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I’m lucky I can switch from WABC NY to a Connecticut channel, which was not pre-empted. Instaget FJ for me, but maybe Tivoli is not as well known as the writers think it is.

Said Neuschwanstein Castle. Spelled it right. Knew it was wrong.

In Atlanta right now and Biden’s speech ended just in time to see the bonus round on WOF and all of Jeopardy.
No real guess on FJ. Started with Little Mermaid and then Cinderella’s castle.

runs: Planets, International Orgs, Asian Cities, History
DDs:
trash: Mark Felt, Mars, Mercury, Commonwealth of Independent States, postimpressionism DD, conscientiousness (6600)
FJ: What is the statue of The Little Mermaid?, c'mon, you spot us Hans Christian Anderson & Walt Disney, fergawdsake!
Had pastoral for parochial.
Remembered "Smilia's Sense of Snow" coming up before, but couldn't pull it in time.
No interruptions, thankfully.

Re: Tuesday, April 20, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
For FJ, I was trying to come up with a tower-like structure like in the Disney logo. The best guess I had was the Eiffel Tower. (Looking up the logo later, I realized it's a castle, not a tower. Anyway!)
My lucky numbers are 6, 66, and 666.

I would've gone with that but I couldn't figure out how to spell it, even phonetically. So I went with something easier to spell. Rijksmuseum.Robert K S wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 8:01 pm Said Neuschwanstein Castle. Spelled it right. Knew it was wrong.

Got Tivoli right away, then considered Neuschwanstein, but figured there's no way they would ask contestants to try to spell it.opusthepenguin wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 9:23 pmI would've gone with that but I couldn't figure out how to spell it, even phonetically. Knew quickly what they were looking for: that amusement park in Copenhagen. It took me to the end of Think music to come up with the name Tivoli. Surprisingly, I understood the thinking behind all 3 wagers.

Played on the archive because of the NY preemption after the first break- Tivoli Gardens was instant, so I'm counting it!
