Ah, the old 400+400 on DD1. Our favorite. Even if Mayim had mentioned the maximum I'm not sure Grace would have done it.

Julia had a great time easily out playing her opponents. John could have prevented the runaway with a solve on DD2, though that's it.

The FJ! clue went 3/3 and I joined the players. I must have paid enough attention in 12th grade world history class.

NOBEL $800 had a laugh and a "Hey" when the realization struck between the correct response and the host.

Argh, fell for my first instinct with Talleyrand, who was 18th/19th centuries. Talleyrand famously betrayed Napoleon. Had I thought about it a little more...

It's finished: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7037

Grace reminded me of Survivor winner Sarah Lacina and Julia was like an SNL player parodying Jennifer Love Hewitt.

I knew it wasn't Talleyrand, but I still ended up in picking one of his contemporaries, Robespierre.

I knew the French Revolution was the 18th century so ruled him out right away (plus "minister" isn't really the best descriptor of him). But I was off by a century as well the other way, guessing John Calvin.

That DC avenues question was just plain awful. Even if you deduced they were looking for south to north (which wasn't clear; what does 'next' mean?), Virginia, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland are legitimate responses. Ugh.

I initially tried to visualize the map of DC, got nowhere, and just figured they would be asking for Pennsylvania as that's the one the average viewer would have heard of.

We missed the 2nd half of Double Jeopardy, and FJ the local affiliate broke in with a very long and drawn out tornado warning that was almost past the expiration time by the time he finished talking.

From what I did get to see of the program, either I'm getting really smart in my golden years or they missed some really easy clues.

I don't feel so bad, I read the category and clue, I knew it was the wrong century but I still said Robespierre. I was thrown by a Minister, so I didn't think about a Cardinal. Forgetting how involved the church was in government.

runs: E-Sports, Noble, Nobel Prize Oddities,
DDs: :D :D :(
trash: elephant, earl, peer, Sax, Queensbury, Gandhi DD, Gibraltar, sigma, zinc (8600)
FJ: Who is Richelieu? Did consider Talleyrand, but knew he was later.
Problem right away on DD. True DD was 400, but I didn't hear Mayim tell her she could bet 1000. :x

I assume it has happened, but there can’t have been many TDD’s worth less than that one.

I mean, if you're going to do that, you at least have to say 'true Daily Double'. It's the only excuse (and one, if I ever get the opportunity, will take)
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Everything Everywhere All at Once (10), Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (6), Black Sunday /1960/ (6), Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (7)

44R. 4/4 on big clues. I can't believe I spelled Richelieu correctly. GWAR helped me get the DD about the Forster novel.

Julia won the game handily but I think Mayim cut her off early during the interview segment. She was just getting into the story about her cat and it seemed like there was a lot left. Maybe tomorrow we'll find out more.

Didn't know the word dispatch as a noun could mean speed.

If I had seen the text of the clue with Nicotiana then I might have been able to get tobacco. Wasn't able to get it by listening to the clue without seeing the text.

Rumble in the Bronx helped me get hovercraft.

Some clues that I missed that I want to get next time are Hadassah, Being There (Chance the gardener), Kosovo, ESPN (Linda Cohn/Chris Berman/Scott Van Pelt), and threshing.
I had a dream that I was asleep and then I woke up and Jeopardy! was on.

French history... Definitely not a strength of mine, no matter which century. Figuring I was dead meat, I spent the whole commercials' time trying to come up with some 17th Century Frenchman... Came up empty.

Clue came up, and I was like, "WECIB?" My super-limited French History knowledge may have helped by having no other knowledge jump in the way, Cardinal RIchelieu came right up, even though I don't know when he played for the Cardinals... :)

Yes, somewhat. I thought Julia looked a bit like Jennifer Love Hewitt.

That’s interesting. For my part, I thought he looked like John Turturro.
