Re: Monday, June 14, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Savannah is wearing heels and she mentioned that in an interview that J! shared last week. Her feet may regret the choice by the end of the taping day.
Mo Rocca's guest category finished last and those five clues should be enough to sate those that advocated for him getting a guest host shot.
Savannah snuck in one "favorite" comment in one of the liquor clues. We'll see if we learn more about her as compared to things we learned about Mayim.
No one knew the writer of the Rubáiyát? I am appalled!
The neighborhood play? That had TS written all over it although slight credit to Katie only being 90 feet off.
The FJ! clue still has me shaking my head at myself. I know the difference and I know better. How I could get the past 11 in a row correct and miss today is baffling. I wrote manifest destiny and there is no excuse. All I can do is laugh and shake it off while somewhat hoping for another miss this week to make sure I did not cost myself a real long (for me) streak.
The players went 0/3 and that set up Katie in third along with her wager to prevail. Jonathan had his chance from the lead and could not come through. Caitlin only bet 1500 on DD3 and left herself shy of the lead. At least for her that did not happen on a triple solve which would be more haunting.
Katie was the only one of the three that went 0/2 on wagering clues and today it worked to go along with 0/1 on Friday. She might want to bet and get something right tomorrow to stick around longer.

Well she was either going to be 90 feet or 127 feet off...Kosman Koin
I also quickly wrote Manifest Destiny, knew it was wrong and spent about 33 seconds (or 3 seconds too many) trying to come up with "the name of that other thing" before Monroe Doctrine hit me.

Maybe today's liquor category inspired it, but I propose a drinking game for Savannah's tenure: "You Got It!"

Re: Monday, June 14, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Sounded like she said “doctorate” rather than doctrine. But I am in a hotel and have no way to rewatch it.
I matched Caitlin’s response. I figured that was wrong because I didn’t think they’d ask players something difficult to spell.

Nope, she said "Doctrine".
I, too, said laissez-faire.I matched Caitlin’s response. I figured that was wrong because I didn’t think they’d ask players something difficult to spell.

Re: Monday, June 14, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I didn't like the wording of the FJ! clue. It sounded like the answer was looking for an expression, which was the way all three contestants, as well as myself, seemed to understand the clue.
Laissez faire here.

Savannah looks strong right outta the gate!
+1 Laissez-Faire, felt great about it until the reveal
LT: vodka, gin, aircraft carrier, 2nd base, Beau Brummell, masks, Rashomon (DD), Khayyam, Analects, International Criminal Court, Hammarskjold
XX Lamentations (for Ecclesiastes) - weep, mourn, etc. I cry foul!
TIL Anchors Away ends in -GH
Katie did it again! She's got the Final wagering down but she doesn't hunt the Daily Doubles. I expected a swift category change after the Asian Lit DD, but no

Re: Monday, June 14, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
A couple nitpicks on the clues.
How did Plymouth Rock become a symbol of freedom after it split in two?
Also, the possession arrow didn’t eliminate the jump ball after a basket. (The inbounds pass did that). The arrow replaced the jump ball after a held ball.

Re: Monday, June 14, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I'm with you on both counts. Put L.F. because (and only because) it was better than no response at all.
And the wording? Jeesh. Sounded like a translation by someone from Lower Slobovia.
I''m unclear though. Is this wording part of the actual doctrine. The clue seemed to suggest that but maybe they just confused me about that too.

I agree, a very weird FJ. Didn't really come up with anything, but as soon as I saw Caitlin's response, it looked good to me.
So what happens with a roughly-written Final? The person who thinks the North Pole is in the North Sea wins.
