This game is a draw for the Weak Form of Shore's Conjecture. The second-place player bet "small." --Bob

Re: Wednesday, June 23, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Danielle was the best of the three players--at penmanship, as her Danielle was impressive
For Danielle's other writing portion:
Savannah called it Vladimir for the surname and TJF went with it as well. For theFJguy I added a "K" that seems to be there at the end and I think Danielle ran out of time for whatever else she might have added.
For the archive how should I record Danielle's response as that is the place to try to get it as accurate as possible.
Funny that AGT got a mention in College Bowl thread and then popped up in a clue in today's game.
Yes, guest host, we want to know what granny liked to drink. I'm sure nana would have gotten a kick out of the mention.
The Christopher Meloni pic was from 2009 and always a little strange to see that set more than a decade later.
The TS clue count was in double digits and Sandy would make me happier about her chances to be playing next week if she knew things like how to finish off the Taft Act.
The Netflix show stumper is understandable as that show would not seem to match up well with the typical J! viewer. I can't wait to see (what, about 1.5 weeks from now ) if LSV got it.
The FJ! clue had me match Sandy for a pen down enjoy-the-music segment as I also included the first name with nothing better to do for the 30 seconds.
Ouch to those that figure out the achievement though don't have the name in their mental Rolodex.
Sandy is 2/4 on wagering clues. Tomorrow would be a good day to bump it up to at least 4/6.

My sister and her boyfriend watch Big Mouth all the time. Didn't miss that one. Though there were a bunch of other clues that I did miss. Christopher Odell, White Lighting, Charles Meloni. Also had a senior in college moment and couldn't pull The Shield and In Living Color.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 1:49 pm The Netflix show stumper is understandable as that show would not seem to match up well with the typical J! viewer. That Tennyson clue may have been one of the worst clues in J! history.
Instaget FJ.

Re: Wednesday, June 23, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Came here to say this. There is nothing to pin the clue to the expected response wording. The expected response wording was probably not what Tennyson actually wanted (his actual wishes appear to require the word "all"). It's not even clear that the clue was factually correct, in a strict sense, since Tennyson made the request to his son and not directly to any publishers (as far as my limited research has revealed).

It's actually Christopher Meloni.LucarioSnooperVixey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 4:01 pmMy sister and her boyfriend watch Big Mouth all the time. Didn't miss that one. One of the detectives on SVU (I'd rather not say which one) lives in my neighborhood and my wife regularly sees them on the trail when walking our dog.

Add me to those who knew exactly who they wanted but couldn’t pull the name. Had part of her first name but that’s about it.
Agree on Danielle’s handwriting. Got a chuckle on Sandy getting the bad Elvis painting after her story.

Re: Wednesday, June 23, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Here, here. BRITISH POETRY is a category I always look to run, and would have undoubtedly started at the bottom had I been playing. That clue just made me go "uuuuh, okay..."
Same with the $800 clue in ART & ARTISTS. It didn't keep me from running the category, but the correct response had nothing to do with knowledge of art, just "find a synonym for 'terrible' that begins with B". Um, sure, whatever.
I knew the full name for FJ, but would have never risked somehow misspelling Valentina and getting negged. Good showing by Sandy.

Poll request on that one. I predict single digits.
Watch for future clues like these:
MUSICIANS $800
Elvis Presley liked to do this.
Spoiler
What is try on new shoes?
This city has a park with trees.
Spoiler
What is Des Moines?

runs: 5 Acts
DDs:
trash: Hartley, white lightning, Hundred Days, blue blood, Whistler DD (5200)
FJ: Who was Valentina Tereshkova? Ruble was the giveaway.
Could not pull Pellegrino. Happy to pull Bosch.
Agree with the disgust over the Tennyson clue.
Oof. Savannah's intro is not going to go over well. Clever clues?
Certainly not the "Grinch Syndrome" clue, nor the Tennyson one from today.

Once again it helps to be "of a certain age." (OK, and to have a lifelong interest in space exploration). Valentina Tereshkova was the kind of instaget that made me wish someone had been watching the game with me, to be witness on this one.
Nice, nice dominant win by the returning champ. Many congrats.

I'm surprised a name that Hawley Smoot-esque hasn't shown up on my radar before...

Of course it hasn’t.
Wasn’t Tereshkova a recent answer not that long ago? Or maybe it was on that “nasty” Chase show. Anyway, instaget here. I’ve always been interested in aviation & space. Nice win by the current champ but I will miss that awesome penmanship on the other end. I agree with awful clue writing. And my Italian bottled water is San Pellegrino.

I think he messed it up with Odell Beckham Jr.
