No announcement yet, but a big part of the reason for all the guest hosts was to give a fair shake to the new person. It would seem unlikely that they're going to go back to Alex reruns. Probably the ToC and maybe the shows hosted by the job awardee, if not Buzzy.

Joe Buck is not a universally loved on air personality. "Butthead" is one of the nicer nicknames? I know I've watched football and especially baseball games and said out loud, "[expletive] Buck!" or more often, "STFU Buck!"

Dunno anything about this apparent Joe Buck hate...

While he's certainly not on my short list of great sports announcers, there are plenty of worse ones to choose from. At least Harry Carey wasn't around to take a hack at this...

Hmm... Will Ferrell as Harry Caray as Alex Trebek. It'd be an SNLception :p

After years of listening to him on Fox baseball broadcasts, I was finally able to pin down why Joe Buck drives me so crazy. He yells every call like he's angry. It's like he's trying to yell over the crowd (perhaps because Fox plays audience noise extra loud compared to my Bally/Fox Sports Angels broadcast). I also think he's annoying to listen to because he's playing to a national audience who doesn't know what we all know about our local teams. Makes it sound like he's talking down to fans.

Of course, I could also be projecting because the Angels always seem to get their butts kicked when they're on the national broadcast.

I suspect the reference is to Harry Caray, famous as the long time announcer for the Cubs (and other teams earlier in his career).

Yes, we are here, but unless the posts are offensive or turn into a personal conversation that's better held in PMs, we're just going to let it run its course.
