Re: Friday, July 30, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Well done by Matt to sweep the week and do his part towards RIF getting $204,800 for a 5-day total.
Hope we have some Atlanta sports fans here to comment on the Wilkins TS coupled with the other clue mentioning the infamous Super Bowl deficit.
Matt has won 8 games and a ton of money. No one can know everything, but stumped on the "S" country with Bandaranaike in the wording?
Andrew's chat time was helpful to know what he has gone through. Good for him to get his Coryat in five figures. He must not watch Shark Tank as DD1 comes up all the time during pitches.
The other player chats may have bits of curses? Rachel mentioned movies and POETRY IN MOTION PICTURES did not nothing to help her score. Matt mentioned baseball and he lost 5 large in the FJ! round.
The FJ! category had me try two precalls and I fully expected one of them to be on the mark:
Caddyshack
Happy Gilmore
The FJ! clue went old school with the A&C routine. 2 should have been immediately out no matter anyone's age. That leaves pick the correct 2 out of 3. Unlike the players I solved the clue as 30 seconds is sufficient to figure it out and check my work.
David Faber on Monday. I suspect he will cause a little less Internet ink to be spilled everywhere unlike this week.
Has J! done a promo for Matt surrounding his run in the area of "next big champ" that we have seen for others in previous seasons? I like having no idea if Matt loses on Monday or is at the champ's spot on Sept. 13th. Or more likely in between.
LeVar got a big chuckle out of one of the clues in CELEBRATION OF THE MONTH. I was smiling at it in recalling Whoopi's line each year on The View noting the combination of the designation matching with that particular month and its length.
LeVar seemed to slowly adjust to the hosting gig where by today I could believe improvement would be possible with coaching along with the benefit of seeing his five games. I have zero expectation of there ever being a sixth opportunity. He got the chance to fulfill a dream. Live with the glory; forget the negative. If J! calls with an offer to read some clues next season? Say yes.

Two weeks to go: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7108
Those cookies looked yummy. If I was out walking and saw a sidewalk sale offering them at $2 a piece there would only be the plate remaining.
I'll cut LeVar a little slack on the FJ! responses for being slow with Rachel as I can understand even with the card in front of you, and only having to remember two names, how it could be confusing keeping it all straight at the moment.

Totally precalled FJ. Sometimes old school is best school. Along with the Vince Coleman clue, I thought this board should've been saved for Joe Buck
Andrew, at least you tried. If only you could've gotten the first DD.
From what I'm seeing on YouTube & other social media, LeVar would do well if he decided to become a cult leader.

Really don't understand how all 3 could miss this. I can only guess that Andrew has never heard this routine, considering the two he answered.

Re: Friday, July 30, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
When the Pats got the ball down by 16, I had a feeling the Falcons were doomed.
I always heard the 1969 Mets as the Miracle Mets while the 1962 version were Amazin.
FJ was a tad confusing as you have one of the wrong players forming the question. I did get it correct, however.

I haven’t heard that much emphasis on the H since Stewie Griffin had Cool Whip.

Total brain lock. I cycled through the five W's so many times, but kept coming up with only four. Stupid "why" kept eluding me.
And I've only known the entire "Who's on First" routine by heart since grade school...
Why is it that even when you throw them right at me, I still manage to miss?

I know they were amazingly bad in 1962, I always thought it was something Stengel made up to promote the new team. Just looked it up and apparently he coined it in 1969.

Who and What are the best known, Why not so much so I can see someone losing a coin flip. Putting down one of the players in the title, I hope he just got confused.

"Come see my amazin’ Mets, some of which has never played semi-pro before." -- Casey Stengel, 1962
And this, the first sentence of "The Go! Shouters," Roger Angell's June 1962 essay for The New Yorker (republished in my well-worn copy of The Summer Game):
"Through April and May, I resisted frequent invitations, delivered via radio and television, to come up to the Polo Grounds and see "those amazin' Mets."
