Happy 37th birthday to the Trebek+ era of Jeopardy!
Facebook has this ad which touts the following stats:
8,405 episodes,
512,705 clues,
42 Emmy Awards.
The 8,405 number intrigues me. Is it right? The last game of Season 37 ended with show #8465. I always thought there were 65 numbered reruns after Season 1, which is why we have generally gotten the nightly syndicated show episode count by subtracting 65 from the latest show number. (The math checked out as of show #8065, touted on-air as the 8,000th episode.)
This new social media ad seems to subtract 60 instead of 65. Subtracting 65, you get only 8,400 episodes.
The 512,705 clues number is just a multiplication of the 8,405 episode number by 61, the number of clues in many games. Apparently they're not factoring in tiebreaker clues. Also not accounting for clues unselected and therefore unaired.
I suppose you could get up to 8,405 episodes by adding in the four GOAT shows and, what, the one Battle of the Bay Area Brains episode? (Screw Super Jeopardy!, amirite?) But then the clue math doesn't work because those GOAT shows had two games each and therefore 122 clues each.

Wouldn't it be an ad for season 38?

8,426 episodes if you include Super Jeopardy! and Greatest of All Time.
