I don't hear it.
There is an 's' sound before Easter, though. I think this is similar to other cases: the contestant starts speaking before the broadcasted audio switches off of Alex to the contestant resulting in the "What is" inadvertently cut off.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Everything Everywhere All at Once (10), Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (6), Black Sunday /1960/ (6), Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (7)

Ditto. I clearly hear that "S" at least 75% of the times I play that clip.

I hear his "What is" almost completely drowned out by Alex's "Glenn."

I don't hear it, but I'll take your all's word for it. I feel like the way he pronounces the syllables of "Easter Island" are the way you'd do it if you had said "What is" ahead of it, and also on the (very grainy) video it kind of looks like he starts talking as soon as his lights come on.

I'm expecting a reversal on the clue before this one, so perhaps there's an edit, too, that clipped out the words.

Good thing Regi missed that DD (and that the champ got FJ right anyway). She would have really regretted that wager if she had gotten the DD and had a sole FJ solve.

An interesting coincidence given today's game (well, not that exact scenario, but three super timid DD wagers).

She gave herself no chance to win with that wager. With exactly half of second place, an true DD was her best option.

He played against all three finalists in his ToC. I bet not a lot of people hold that distinction, although I suppose all you have to do is play against two future finalists in the QF, win or get a wild card, and then lose in the SF for that to have happened. I guess I'll just research it now.

1991: Mark Born beat Jim Scott and Steve Robin in the QF and lost to Lou Pryor in the SF
1993: Dennis Donohue beat Bev Schwartzberg and Marilyn Kneeland in the QF and lost to Tom Nosek in the SF
1994: John Cuthbertson beat Rachael Schwartz and David Hillinck in the QF and lost to Jeff Stewart in the SF
2013: Dan McShane played Keith Whitener and Kristin Morgan in the QF and lost to Colby Burnett in the SF
