Sorry to bump this but now we found out that the Susan/Florence/Sandra episode is from September 1, 1986. So that game may need to be archived. Considering that the Heidi/Don/Pat and Zanete/Tom/Paul episodes aren't archived because we had the dates wrong over the years. Kris Lane had Don/Chas/Jim in his episode collection and MarkBarrett, Anne Summers was only a 1-time champion and she was defeated on the September 25, 1986 episode. So let me correct the pinpoint dates for the not yet archived games:
Susan/Florence/Sandra: September 1, 1986
Fern/Wade/Roger Storm: September 5, 1986
Heidi/Don/Pat: September 17, 1986
Zanete/Tom/Paul: September 22, 1986

How did you all manage to find that out?

Just curious.

Can someone finish Season 20? It was started done before J Archive an old site that no longer works. It needs to be finished on J Archive.

Yes, that is the site he was referring to, but I noticed that site's gone for good now. I too would also like to see more episodes from that season archived by anyone in the future as well.

May I suggest using the site "members.aol.com/tdciago/jeoparchive" on waybackmachine.org to fulfill this idea?

You would have to go back to 2008, the last date that didn't come up with a 304 at crawl time. The front page works; I would have to look at what's at the new site already and which links on the front page still work.

Here's what I was able to salvage. Dates between September 8, 2003 and July 23, 2004 that are not mentioned below fall on a Saturday or Sunday.

Already archived: 9/8-9/12, 9/26, 10/8-10/23, 11/10, 11/18, 1/5-2/6, 2/23-7/23. Most 2004 games are therefore already there.

Clues and responses available from old site: 9/16 (C/R), 9/22 (C/R), 10/1 (C/R), 10/2 (C/R), 10/3 (C/R), 10/6 (C/R), 10/29 (C/R), 10/30 (C/R), 11/5 (C/R), 11/11 (C/R), 11/12 (C/R), 11/17 (C/R), 11/19 (C/R), 11/21 (C/R), 12/1 (C/R), 12/2 (C/R), 12/3 (C/R), 12/4 (C/R), 12/8 (C/R), 12/9 (C/R), 12/10 (C/R), 12/15 (C/R), 12/16 (C/R), 12/17 (C/R), 12/22 (C/R), 12/29 (C/R), 12/30 (C/R), 1/1 (C/R), 1/2 (C/R), 2/9 (C/R), 2/10 (C/R), 2/11 (C/R), 2/12 (C/R), 2/13 (C/R), 2/16 (C/R), 2/18 (C/R)

Clues available but not responses: 9/15, 9/17, 9/18, 9/19, 9/23, 9/24, 9/25, 9/29, 10/7, 10/24, 10/27, 10/28, 10/31, 11/3, 11/4, 11/6, 11/7, 11/10, 11/13, 11/14, 11/20, 11/24, 11/25, 11/26, 11/27, 11/28, 12/5, 12/11, 12/12, 12/18, 12/19, 12/23, 12/24, 12/25, 12/26, 12/31, 2/17

All information lost: 2/19

That's 155 already at the new site (assuming J-archive's count is correct—I didn't count myself), 37 we're able to add to that (assuming any accompanying audio and video are still there), 37 for which we have incomplete information, and 1 completely lost. We're probably going to have to hope GSN reruns this season.

Actually there IS a way to find those responses for the games you mentioned. Same as mentioned, but just take out the "/_ht_a" in the wayback links, and you'll get a page with the responses. For example, go to the wayback link "http://web.archive.org/web/200503010324 ... 03ans.html" and you'll get the page with the answers!!

Hope this helps!! ;)

Eh?

Also, replacing the numbers between "web/" and "/http" with "*" makes it so you can see all available archival dates of the page. So, for example, http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://mem ... 03ans.html will lead you to a page that shows there was indeed an answers page archived for 9/15. Edit: actually, the "/_ht_a" removal works just as well. I recommend doing both.

Edit 2: Wagering comments on the 9/18 game (hidden in spoilers for being off topic):
Spoiler
My anti-Shoretegic wagering recommendation would have won a third game for the champion.

Michael: $17,200
Brian: $16,200
Sue: $4,400

Returning champ Brian was in second place in the Strong Form of Shore's Conjecture, and I say that someone in such a position can make a controlled overwager to beat first place on a Shoretegic wager and a double get. Here's how: Michael will fall below $2,000 on a cover, so Sue has reason to wager no more than $2,400. Therefore, Michael can overshoot the "keep Sue locked out" bet by $2,000, with a wager of $9,399. As it happens, Michael bet only $8,300, to keep Sue locked out. But he won on a triple get when Brian bet $4,800. Brian would have won by $99 with a $9,399 bet.

jeopardy87 saves the day. Here are the responses for 9/15, 9/17, 9/18, 9/19, 9/23, 9/24, 9/25, 9/29, 10/7, 10/24, 10/27, 10/28, 10/31, 11/3, 11/4, 11/6, 11/7, 11/10, 11/13, 11/14, 11/20, 11/24, 11/25, 11/26, 11/27, 11/28, 12/5, 12/11, 12/12, 12/18, 12/19, 12/23, 12/24, 12/25, 12/26, 12/31, 2/17

Additionally, the clues and responses for 2/19, which I thought was lost, and the clues and responses for 2/20, which I forgot.

I do believe that is everything. Thanks a lot!

Folks, for those of you who are aware: We have 2 more S3 J! episodes, but in the same link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Hof5bWJcMI.

Now I have a hunch and Trevor(animfan) I hope you can help me, these episodes were aired on October 27-28, 1986 and yes GSN did air these 2 episodes AFAIK.

The second episode has a local news break that says it's election day and Bill Clements is hoping to take back the governor's mansion in Texas. That would mean that these airings occurred on November 3-4, 1986. But it's obvious on a glance at the J! Archive that the ToC began on those days. Was that particular station airing J! a week behind?

Seaborgium, if the ToC aired November 10-21, 1986 in that station, then Frank Hughes' run would've began on December 17, 1986, but then again, looking at a couple of ends of Season 13's batches of regular episodes, the first batch of regular episodes of S13 had 50 episodes(all of which still had the gridding set) and the last batch of regular episodes only had 40. S3 had a total of 45 episodes and the 4th batch having 45 also, so the Teen Tournament started on February 9, 1987 for that station with Michael Galvin's QF game airing on February 10.

We have a complete backup of the Jeoparchive (no need to go to the wayback machine).

I've also got a script written that takes games from the Jeoparchive and auto-inputs them into the J! Archive.

Unforunately the script still has a bug or two, and I haven't had time since I started law school to fix it.

Alas, for more time...

For you, maybe!

I'd thought it was all ready to be archived at the push of a button, pending any sort of a "go" sign from tdciago herself.

More FJ wagering fun detected: in a game I can't remember, a tie for second place at, say, $8,200. One wagers $8,000, the other wagers $8,175. Both get it right, and first place gets it wrong (of course). And in the Christmas Eve game: third place in negative, second place $8,800, first place $13,200. Perfect two-thirds match, with no pesky third place mucking things up for anyone! So second place wagers $4,401. She is punished for her wager by getting it wrong. Not to be outdone, first place has bet $10,000, and gets it wrong too! Way to go!

Would you like me to help to try to debug it, or cobble together something from scratch?
