Tue - EC Stanton, but I was trying to recall Eddy

Mouth beat my brain by saying La Boheme for the Verdi opera
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Brenda Starr and Suez Canal. I thought of Brenda and never looked back. Also, I've read more than once that Lois was based on a classmate of one of the two.

I suppose steeplechase was a lucky guess, as I hadn't actually made the church-->steeple connection. I was trying to work with the two church names but that didn't go anywhere.

Not sure I'd have had the confidence to buzz on Traviata, but I took credit to keep things symmetrical.
I'm smart and I want respect.

Brenda Starr and horse racing for the wrong answers. I should have known better on horse racing, which I locked into quickly.

Never been to New Orleans

I didn't realize I had four right until the poll. But, I wasn't very close to the box of glory because of no guess whatever on the author. If the clue asked for an author, I still wouldn't get it, I'm just not that familiar with Alcott.

Is somebody trolling me for entering a steeplechase that was cancelled ;) ;) . The counter still reads zero :(. I probably would have needed This is Kirk to handle the water jump for me anyway - my one attempt at a triathlon ended in the safety kayak. It's actually hard to dogpaddle for 1000 meters - who knew? It doesn't help to have negative buoyancy, but I've got a lot of respect for swimmers.

Been to the Big Easy a few times, but Preservation Hall is the only touristy thing I have done. I don't drink liquor, so no Hurricanes on my menu. My cousin did insist we eat a muffuletta. I do try to get fried oysters when I go, and red beans and rice if it isn't too spicy hot (it always is).
Disclaimer - repeated exposure to author's musings may cause befuddlement.

Stowe, Korean DMZ

Nearly said cross-country Wednesday, but noticed both locations were churches and talked myself into switching.

Never been to Cafe du Monde, never seriously ridden a horse.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Brenda Starr after dismissing Lois Lane. E.C. Stanton after dismissing Alcott. Sheesh.

Had the right opera in mind, knew it had "Anvil Chorus" in it, but for some reason just could not pull the name. Have been to Cafe du Monde for beignets. Their hot chocolate is better than their chicory coffee, but the coffee goes better with beignets.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

That's Il Trovatore, not La Traviata.

I said Brenda Starr, Elizabeth Cary Stanton (came up with Alcott during the reveals), and bicycling, and saved myself in the last two days.

Oops. Not the first time I've confused the two. Guess I should have said, "for some reason just could not pull the incorrect name. Or the correct one."
