That makes two 30+ game champions that were defeated by Chicago librarians.
Also, this FJ! clue was right up my alley. I think Amy psyched herself out with her recent FJ! misses.

It's remarkable how she seemed to have flipped a switch from automatic on FJs to couldn't-get-one-to-save-her-life. Finally caught up with her, unfortunately. In any event, what an incredible run!Philliesfan02 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:37 pm That makes two 30+ game champions that were defeated by Chicago librarians.

Well this result wasn't telegraphed in the least with the thread started a few days back by somebody with 1 prior post regarding a Q&A with an "upcoming Jeopardy contestant" that just happened to dethrone a superchamp.

Re: Wednesday, January 26, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
So funny to have Amy lose on a day when she had Namath incorrectly instead of the other QB.
Hey, Ken, you could have asked for a specification on the QB's first name instead of only accepting the family name. I'm fine with the PBS kid show judging even though I had the proper name for it.
Matt got passed in wins, but still has 3rd money ahead of Amy.
The FJ! clue had me unable to solve it before the music began, though I was ahead of Rhone as the camera was on the players to see his aha moment. If you don't have it, then you know you don't have it. Amy's miss was obvious.
An opponent played DD3 for +7800 and that was enough today to go along with the sole solve of the FJ! clue for Rhone to overcome a 25600 to 12400 Coryat deficit. Even without all that, Rhone had a 12400 Coryat, so impressive with that alone.
The signs were all over that Amy could lose today. Early Rhone post on Reddit, rando Rhone thread here, J! players for the week having issues at time displaying properly, Amy on GMA, ToC announced for November, and today Delta CBS WXVT aired yesterday's game (at least at the start) and I had to make a quick switch to Quincy.
I did not know Amy would not win today, but I am not nearly as surprised about it as I was when Matt lost.
Great run by Amy and we'll see if she can hold onto the #1 seed in the ToC when it seemed inconceivable that Matt would not.

I had a hunch that the "Upcoming Q&A with Rhone Talsma" thread was a spoiler.
Congrats to Rhone for not backing down in the face of a mega-champ. I missed FJ, but should have had it. I wanted it to end in "gh" though, and couldn't shake Afghanistan from my brain.

Immediately thought of that Master Minds moment with the same question. I wonder if Ken though the same? Probably.

Congrats to Amy for winning 40 games and $1.3 million, and congrats to Rhone on winning his first match; but let's see if he will beat the odds and go on a winning streak of his own like Jonathan Fisher pulled off after defeating Matt Amodio

How did Rhone win? By playing a decent game; hitting a late-DJ! DD, making it true, and getting it right to avoid being locked out by the champ; then wagering to win in Final and getting Final right when the champ didn't. That's all it takes.

Those stumpers were 2 of my 49 in hitting the elusive for me 40K+ Coryat. I missed the even more difficult for me 50 right since I cannot find a book Native Rat.LucarioSnooperVixey wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:10 pm 58 R (Missed Johnny Unitas(Who I think I've missed in the past.) and Celebs on Kids TV $2000.)

I have not been as regular checking online J stuff, so I was not aware of potential loss this week.
Made for a great viewing experience. Finally someone shows up to play. Well done Rhone.
Congrats to Amy too. If she doesn't change her DD strategy for ToC, she won't be a lock for finals.

Good enough to lose on Jeopardy!
