Re: Monday, March 14, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Nice ToC tracker graphic to open the show with Ken highlighting where the recent champs place on it.
No added taping date graphic for J! using the Belarus city clue.
It was low-hanging fruit, but I appreciated Ken doing a 3x for one of the TV clues correct responses. Ken made me smile (not cry a river) when he acknowledged a correct response with the singer initialism.
Better by Ken was working in a play on Amy's roller derby nickname as she found a DD in LIBRARIES.
A head scratcher by Ken was giving credit for the MILLARD FILLMORE category source with a clue still remaining.
For Golf: Matt made a hole-in-one on the 15th at Brookside: https://scpgajt.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/s ... erview.htm
If the link is the correct one then what club might you use there?
The FJ! category had me playing the precall game that went from AQOTWF to Treat of Versailles with battles in between.
The FJ! clue had me needing a mulligan as Jutland went on my paper first before switching to match Amy. Nice work by the new champ to overcome losing 4 large on DD2 to getting the ultimate reward with the sole solve.

Hole in ones are beyond awesome, especially your first. Definitely something money cannot buy.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:45 pm For Golf: Matt made a hole-in-one on the 15th at Brookside: https://scpgajt.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/s ... erview.htm

Looks like #15 is 128 yards from the back tees, 120 from the whites. From 128 with no wind and assuming no change in elevation, I'd take a little off a pitching wedge. From 120 it would be a full gap wedge. Of course the proper club can vary widely from person to person.
I haven't watched yet, was his ace his story today? If so, this excites me, if hole in ones help to get one through the audition process, I know one of my stories for the next time!

Yes, the ace was Matt's chat nugget.
Anyone know the tape date?

27/0 for J! 25/0 for DJ!
Easy money for the taking in Nuclear Physics.
for big clues. Guessed Peloponnesus for FJ.
trash: UHF, Kierkegaard, Terpsichore trickery, breeder, Bethesda DD, Patience, indivisibility, alpha

The "aerie" clue illustrates why we need to bring back the time's-up sound.

I always pronounce it TERP-si-core, as Frank Sinatra did in "Come Dance With Me."
Ken said that Amy isn't Marian the Librarian but in fact she has a master's degree in library science. That must make the Bethesda Daily Double fail extra embarrassing for her.
That Final Jeopardy clue was seriously YEKIOD. I couldn't get away from Normandy even though those place names sounded decidedly non gallic.
I was cheering for Amy and hope to see another happy day for her tomorrow.

Coincidentally, I picked up a copy of The Guns of August at the library this morning. Got FJ without opening yet.
Brilliant comeback by Amy. I was insulted by her missing that DD, though.

Add me to those that didn't know Terpsichore was pronounced that way, and couldn't sus that clue out.
FJ was WWI site + peninsula + Cape Hellas = WECIB

Ah, much better game today, apart from that train wreck of a Nuclear Physics category. Easy FJ today, too

Re: Monday, March 14, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
This FJ was frustrating for me...
My first thought on reveal was Dardanelles...but that's not the peninsula...
2d thought was... The 80s movie with Mel Gibson....
The name of the movie, and the place, remained elusive for the rest of the :30... Even though I've always found it a pleasant word to say...
On the other hand, the rhyme for Terpsichore was one of the easiest in the category...

Re: Monday, March 14, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
To me, Hellas = Greece, & Greece + peninsula = Peloponnesus, every time.
Gallipoli =/= Greece, so that was not on my radar.

Re: Monday, March 14, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Suvla Bay sounds Turkish, and combined with Hellas places the clue in that part of the world. Is there any other WWI reference besides Gallipoli that would be a reasonable guess given the TOM?
