I promise I don't do this often (feel free to check me on that), but this is a really poorly written question.

Halley had trouble keeping up with the challengers and could have defended with a different wager in the FJ! round. Hoa needed to cover the possible 14400 by Halley and 501 would have done it. Even 1101 by Hoa if she thought Dave would bet nothing would have won her a 5-figure total. Nope, Dave returns with the same amount that Hoa leaves with.
The FJ! clue had me all messed up in Texas trying to figure out a Fort Worth-Dallas connection. From there I tried thinking of a "New" city and did no better than the New York of Halley & Dave without even thinking of places like New Orleans.
The correct response? Just not how my head was processing. Oh, exact same name cities with one having a lot more people than the other? Why didn't you say so? How about a bone of miles apart of distance? Or not a state at the time? At least I was as lost as the contestants.

Another unsurprising triple miss. When are the writers going to keep it simple?

Just putting miles apart would have made this a good clue... I think...MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 1:41 pm.

FJ was a gimme to me.
I guess it's hard to see Portland, Maine as a large city.

I settled on Miami, which is large and there are other places named Miami. Was not confident in my response (for good reason, as it turned out). Never came close to the correct answer.

The trivia nugget about "two cities by this name, both the largest in their states and neither a capital" was helpful to remember.
I'm smart and I want respect.

I understood the question perfectly... which didn't help me. Kansas City just seemed to make complete sense! It's been a while since I've been that confident in an answer that turned out wrong .

From the date in FJ, figured it'd be a West Coast city named after an East Coast city, and got there pretty quickly.

Another fourth podium day.
I got this one quickly.
I have been to the Unclaimed Baggage Center. Some love it but it was a big meh for Bamawoman and me.

Instaget.
Probably helps that I'm less than 2 hours away from one of the cities in question.

It didn't hurt that I spent this afternoon picking up Mrs. alietr at the airport for her flight from ... Portland (ME).

I don't understand the notion of this clue being poorly written. It seems crystal clear to me.

Re: Thursday, June 30, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I would like to request that every clue from now on ends with the phrase "don't pick the wrong one". Think of all the incorrect responses that could be prevented if they simply instruct the contestants not to provide them in the first place!
