I assume he means Charly (1968), the film adaptation of Flowers for Algeron. If he meant another movie, than I'll add Charly (1968). (Full disclosure: the year came from research, but the title was in my head originally).RandyG wrote:Not familiar with this one, and there are an awful lot of IMDB listings for "Charlie." I'm sure it's a good one, but which Charlie are you talking about?billy pilgrim wrote:charlie
Fantasia. (First feature-length film with Mickey Mouse I could think of, but I'm sure there are many more)
The Departed? Not a big role, but it is the final image of the movie.

And there's Jodie Foster's The Beaver starring Jerry Mathers as Mel Gibson and Mel Gibson himself as Larry Mondello.

Looney Tunes Back in Action
Stuart Little
and I think Tom & Jerry had a full-length movie at some point but don't remember if it had a different title than just "Tom & Jerry"

Of Mice and Men ("Tell me about the rabbits, George.")
Flirting With Disaster (How convenient. I happened to watch this last night.... there's a segment that centers on a rabbit figurine.)
The rat in The Departed is a sledgehammer-to-the-head type of symbolism. I think it's a magnificent film, and I'm glad that Scorsese finally got his Oscar for this, and especially not for The Aviator, which I thought was pure drivel. But I don't like the rat ending, too over the top and totally unnecessary.

Charly, sure. That should have been obvious to me. Thx.soxfan99 wrote: I assume he means Charly (1968), the film adaptation of Flowers for Algeron. If he meant another movie, than I'll add Charly (1968).

Titanic! (If this is the way the rats are going, it's good enough for me!)

To be precise, sequels are included.... just lumping them in with the original when coming up with the unique count.
Yes, something like Titanic did come to mind when I formulated the question and conditions. Don't recall the movie too well, but I figured that there would be rats on board, which would likely appear in some form at some point. (Is Anchors Aweigh in the same category?) There have probably been hundreds of movies where rats or other vermin have been seen briefly just scurrying around. The intent was to not include those, but we're not keeping score, so it isn't all that important where the line is drawn.Volante wrote:.Volante wrote:More significant than M:I and that got accepted!xxaaaxx wrote:Not sure if it's 'significant' enough but...

Well, they were used as a plot mover (and quippy one liner) in Titanic; couldn't have the line without the rats.RandyG wrote: Yes, something like Titanic did come to mind when I formulated the question and conditions.
