Whoa, I outscored Volante on 10-26?! (If we had a few more people posting their scores, we could start a "smack talk" thread!)

10-31: 20600 I don't want to make an excuse, but I was rattled for a while because my closed-captioning was revealing the correct response before it was time to ring in!
By the way, is anyone keeping track of their Coryats from the Game Show Network episodes on the weekends? Shall we post those, too?

Re: Season 28 Coryats Thread (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
Interesting you post those about both Closed Captioning and GSN, because I generally watch most of my TV with CC on. I mainly do this because on some TV shows, the characters either talk really fast, really quietly, or else the background music drowns out the words. I find it easier to keep up with the CC on, especially if I'm disracted by reading the paper, or doing something on the computer. I also like it on Jeopardy, in case I don't catch what the contestant says, or if it's a word/name I'm not familiar with and it is helpful to see the spelling.thejeopardyfan wrote:10-31: 20600 I don't want to make an excuse, but I was rattled for a while because my closed-captioning was revealing the correct response before it was time to ring in!

It usually isn't a problem on the new episodes of Jeopardy, as if I know the answer I usually say it while the clue is still on the screen, and the CC with the response doesn't pop up until the camera cuts back to the contestants. On Daily Doubles, I usually cover the bottom of the screen, because the CC tends to pop up before the contestant gives the answer.
In watching the old episodes on GSN, I've found that I have to turn the CC off, because the answers often pop up while the clue is still on the screen, and it's quite annoying to have to cover up the bottom part of the screen for the entire show.

Re: Season 28 Coryats Thread (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
It's kind of involved to shut my closed-captioning off. I have to shut off the whole setup (DVR, etc.), which of course would mean I'd miss some of the show and not get it back. I just have closed-captioning no matter what I'm watching.jeff6286 wrote:Interesting you post those about both Closed Captioning and GSN, because I generally watch most of my TV with CC on. I don't like to respond to the clues until Mr. Trebek's done reading the clue, so I can practice ringing in and responding as if I were doing it there. It was hard today because if I read the clue, I'd read the contestant's response, too! At least for a while.
