what city did you choose for the test?
There was a thread a couple years ago in which those who registered for the test posted the city they chose. I thought it would be interesting to do it again. I'll start.

Haven't decided yet. It will be either Boston, KC, Atlanta or Tampa. There are none that I am willing to drive (closest is KC at about 10 hrs) and nothing with a direct flight from Grand Rapids, MI. I have friends in Boston and Atlanta so those are the most likely.

Tampa for me - a direct flight and inlaws nearby. Also, my only audition invite to date was in Orlando.

KC. Because people out in the middle of nowhere can't be choosers.
(It's be nice to see a poll with this too!)

If I was eligible to take the test, I'd go for Atlanta, but then there would be a good chance I'd miss it.
Actually, didn't realize Boston is closer.

You forgot Seattle (my second choice, as it's the only one I've been to, however briefly, and relatively close to in laws in Vancouver and friends in Portland)earendel wrote:Good idea - I added the poll.dhkendall wrote:KC. Because people out in the middle of nowhere can't be choosers.

I picked KC based on proximity but didn't think to consider flights. Oh, well. Guess I'll be forced to endure ribs at Joe's and a game at Kauffman Stadium. Life's rough.

Boston is the only one within driving distance, but that appears to be true for pretty much everyone in the Northeast. Could be a tough ticket

San Francisco because I'm due a trip there anyway, but it's ridiculous there's no Minneapolis/Chicago.

LA because it's only an 8 hour (40 mile) drive away.

It should be obvious which one I chose...which means that I probably won't pass the online test.

Re: what city did you choose for the test?
I've taken the test every year since 2009 inclusive and while I've only seen Minneapolis twice (2009, 2014), I've seen Chicago every year but this one. I guess it makes sense, it's not like it's the third largest city in the US or anything ...grindcore wrote:San Francisco because I'm due a trip there anyway, but it's ridiculous there's no Minneapolis/Chicago.

Re: what city did you choose for the test?
As I alluded to in another thread, auditions in Chicago were just held the weekend of March 21 (i.e., a week and a half ago), granting that the invitees were folks who had passed last year's online test. I can understand why TPTB aren't prepared to return to the Windy City in the next few months, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicago get added eventually for this year's batch of test-passers (perhaps in the fall), with invites going to people who indicated zip codes within a certain radius of Chicago or something like that.dhkendall wrote:I've taken the test every year since 2009 inclusive and while I've only seen Minneapolis twice (2009, 2014), I've seen Chicago every year but this one. (D.C. and NYC are in a similar situation, with auditions in both of those cities having been conducted earlier this month as well.)

KC is only 250 miles away, therefore driveable.
All other cities at least 500 miles away. Pretty easy choice for me.

Re: what city did you choose for the test?
I had to pick Boston, since no other city was closer to me. But I am hoping something else opens up down the road. Boston is a city that I can drive to the night before and still be ready to go on the next day. And it has been said, it may be capture all of the east coast applicants.
Be alert. Stupid never takes a day off!
