Not cool. I couldn't see the categories until about question 40
Did this happen to anybody else?

First time taking test. Boy - did that go by quickly. That seemed tough - waiting for recap/transcript/video. Oh well - next year, I guess.

Just talked to a friend of mine online who took tonight's test. Said for Question 1, was able to see the category, but not the question itself until there was 5 seconds left. No other issues.jjwaymee wrote:Not cool. I couldn't see the categories until about question 40

I could see them, but the font/color combination is awful.jjwaymee wrote:Not cool. I couldn't see the categories until about question 40

Same for me, and then I had issues after question 20, but I think that was just my internet.ten96lt wrote:Just talked to a friend of mine online who said for question 1, was able to see the category, but not the question until there was 5 seconds left. No issues, other than my brain completely shutting down for most of the test.

So, with tonight's test over, four points:
- They played the Final Jeopardy! countdown music in the 30 seconds before the test. I don't remember if this was done before, but it's a nice touch.
- The recent events thread had answers to at least two of the clues.
- The after-test page says they'll be putting the answers up on their Facebook page.
- I think the wording for #9 may have been a bit misleading, but my answer could have been wrong.

No glitches on my end but it's unfortunate to hear others had them.
I thought the pop culture skewed tougher than normal. The Hozier one was a lay-up, but an Alanis Morrisette lyric, an X-Men subtitle, a Scandal character could run tough for those relying on those questions to make their numbers. No sports was disappointing to say the least.
I am right on the border, I'll need the transcript and I think I'll need some luck on guesses to make 35.

I watched my husband take it. It took a couple seconds after the test started for the first question to come up and about 10 seconds for the category. No issues after question 1.

Now maybe I'm glad I didn't sign up to take this test. I wonder if Sony is still having computer issues.
When do you think they will add more cities to their audition list? I couldn't find a "just for fun" option on their registration form, which I didn't completely fill out, a fact that J! keeps sending me emails to remind me about.

My thoughts are basically the same as Fishercat's.
It was painful. I don't think I passed.
And I remember the Think Music playing in all the other years that I took the test.

I experienced something similar to your friend, but milder. For Question 1, there was a brief period of about a second or two when the clue wasn't visible, but then it fixed itself, and then luckily, I experienced no other technical issues for the remainder of the test.ten96lt wrote:Just talked to a friend of mine online who took tonight's test. Yes, for me the difficulties were definitely PEBCAK. It's going to be a lot closer for me this year.bpmod wrote:No issues, other than my brain completely shutting down for most of the test.

They have all the years I've taken it (that is, from 2009 forward). I agree it is a nice touch.Mavwreck wrote:They played the Final Jeopardy! countdown music in the 30 seconds before the test. I don't remember if this was done before, but it's a nice touch.

I also had a delayed appearance on the first question. Category popped up, question didn't appear until about 7-8 seconds had gone by. Nice panicky way to start the test...
Agreed that pop culture seemed a bit on the difficult side, but found most of the rest to be not that bad. Had a few last minute revelations that I hope I got in in time

Ughhh...serious brain cramp tonight. I think I only scored 30-32.
