I tied BahnamanS in our Style2 LL Mini-League match earlier this year, so my money would be on Colby.Rafferty Barnes wrote:"Footwear"Linear Gnome wrote: Santa, for Christmas I want a reality show starring Steve Bahnaman and Colby Burnett. I don't even care what it's about.

I was not referring to the players' expectations. I was referring to the way in which the audience was being misled.Rex Kramer wrote:I'm probably a little more familiar with the context of 500 Questions than you are. It was clear from the beginning that there was no requirement to answer 500 questions correctly, and the person who is imagining a different context in which such a requirement is implied is you.VoluptuousLoser wrote:Your example is beside the point. It ignores the context of the actual situation we're discussing, and it imagines a completely different context.
Rex
There are two possible things being implied: 1) "answer 500 questions [correctly]"; or 2) "[provide an] answer [to] 500 questions." The rules of the game require neither of those things. So which is a more reasonable construction? The one that hypes the game and the players by eliding the fact that you don't actually have to give 500 correct answers, or the one that would allow for anyone off the street to be able to win the game?
Jeff, your efforts at mediation are appreciated, but what could be more fun than arguing semantics with a college professor?

I'm rather enjoying Megan taking down our host whenever she has the opportunity.

"Which one are you kicking yourself for missing?"
"Seaborgium, of course!"
And I died laughing.

Who else would like to see Megan do more Molly Bloom?
She caught the Katy and left me a mule to ride.
