A bit harder than most online tests I've taken. That, combined with one very dumb mistake and one slightly dumb mistake, probably put me at the lower end of my range, which would be about a 38.

I actually spent some time today going over the emmys, grammys and oscars of the last year assuming that there would be one current pop culture question. Outside of "Top Chef" was there really any others. It seemed to me that last year the current pop culture stuff was good for several questions.

Was the question about a guess that started and ended with the same letter supposed to be knack or hunch, or would either be acceptable, or is it something different?

Megan Trainor. That was about the only other one.

I thought it was pretty easy.
Missed Jane Austen (said Christie), James I (said Elizabeth I), and only had time for the first couple letters of "SCHIN" dler's List! (think they'll know what i was going for?)

Urgh, and Top Chef (said Hells Kitchen.) I *hate* reality shows and never watch them. Should I?

I think I'm in the 40-42 range.
It took me about two minute to come up with Norman Mailer, which is a killer, because I was trying to think of his name for about 10 questions, like that does any good. I saw a special on him on netflix about a year ago. I knew exactly who they wanted, and I could tell you more about the guy than just about anybody (we are talking Rip Torn hitting him in the head with a hammer during a film scene), but I could not come up with his name at all. Those are the ones I just hate.

I'm a little concerned because this is closer to how I feel - I normally get around 30, but this time I estimate (lol) 38. I think maybe part of that was the relative lack of pop culture questions; I struggle with those (although I remembered just in time to put Top Ch, the well-known reali s ab coo).

Did the same thing, then erased "Seven Sisters", then typed "Big Di" before time ran out.

Taking it for realsies, I got 44 or 45, depending on the official scoring decision on one of my responses. I did find it tougher than usual for these things. An astonishing number of my guesses panned out. My misses:
Spoiler
The Meghan Trainor song (I had no guess -- I had studied stuff like that but had forgotten it)

genealogy, which I misspelled "geneaology" making it 10 letters in a category that demanded 9 letters. ETA: I'm assuming my response on this one will be marked wrong, but given that spelling generally doesn't count on these online tests, despite the mention of 9-letters in the clue, and given how lenient they are with accepting incomplete answers, who knows?

ziplining (assuming that's what they were going for) -- I got confused and said rappeling.

pituitary for thyroid.

Schubert for Brahms.

ionic bonds as the opposite of covalent -- I blanked on that one.

I put "gallows" for this one.

Assuming gallows is correct, I got a 36/50, hopefully good enough.

Ok so this is my first time taking the online test - not sure how I did. Guessing in the 30's but just a guess. Those who have taken it before - will my actual score be posted, or will they post the questions and I have to try to remember my answers?

100%, considering that James I was on the throne when the Bard died in 1616.
