June 1, 2017 Adult Online Test Discussion

Post by SBurrus »

I took the online qualifying test tonight. Sadly, there were at least a couple of answers I knew but just couldn't recall them in time. I guess my age is starting to catch up with me. I'm looking forward to seeing the answers for the questions.

To me, that was by far the easiest of the 3.

So, ummm, what's the 4 -letter word for injustice or whatever that clue was?

Maybe 46 from the facebook feed for me on this one, but I'll look at it more closely tomorrow. I certainly had no idea on #s 37 and 50, and probably missed a couple more along the way. But it's really late here, and my internet connection frustration (this should be an official syndrome) is sky-high right now.

I think I got 37 right - happy as hell with that.

ETA: After checking the answers posted, I actually think I got 42 right - the answer to life, the universe, and Jeopardy!

I think I failed this one. I did the videos of the previous two nights, 34 and 39 under more relaxed conditions. Only one of them I thought of immediately after the time was up. Normally the last test is easiest, that is why I waited. I guess running a 5K and then taking a J! test was not the best idea.

I think I might have choked on this one. Not often do I have no answer at all, and I must have left at least 3 answers completely blank.

I hear ya. I definitely seem to do better on the practice tests than I do on the real thing.

Got a good feeling about this one! While there were about half a dozen I weren't sure about (one or two VERY not sure about) I only clammed two (woke and #50). (Meant to answer "covfefe" for my clams but forgot to. :) ) Just waiting for the answers to be crowdsourced now!

Fingers/toes/everything else crossed!

Pretty sure I passed. Only a couple I totally blanked on.

Put Niels Bohr for the binomial nomenclature inventor (WRONG country [Bohr is Danish?!], wrong invention)

I went to the wrong end of Africa after racking my brain for 13.3 seconds and quickly wrote down Libya for the triple-border question.

Literature is not my wheelhouse at all and I'm shocked that I got 3 of them right (Moby Dick, Go Set a Watchman, Tom Clancy)

I was kicking myself on the nomenclature question; that was on either Jeopardy or LL in recent weeks!

Like you, I got those three lit questions correct. I almost said Go Tell A Watchman but changed it just in time.

In my daily Bible reading I was just reading the passage that Harper Lee took the title from a few days ago! (I assume it was that, seeing the phrase "go set a watchman" in the Bible, a literary source of inspiration for centuries, led me to believe that was probably it.)
