A lady in church today asked people to pray for "Alex Quebec". Close enough, right?

I'm in the same position as you are. Not only have I been a lifelong Mets fan, but Tom Terrific was my boyhood sports idol.joepozz wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 4:36 pm What a week! It was bad enough that Alex had to make this horrible announcement. Then the very next day, this life-long Met fan learned that Tom Seaver (the greatest Met of them all) is suffering from dementia, and has to retire from public life. May God strengthen them both for the upcoming trials that they face. I thank them both for so many wonderful memories and happy moments in my life.

Not a Mets fan, but he was certainly one of the best of my childhood. A real kick in the gut.slam wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:48 pmI'm in the same position as you are. Re: Alex Trebek Announces Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer
I haven't visited this board for many years (five time-champ from Season 1, 1984-85). I was very saddened by the news, and I wish Alex and his family the very best. To maintain the integrity of the game, Alex never had personal interactions with any of the contestants, but as a game show host, he was and still is the best. I am in a good position to judge: I've played quiz shows hosted by Art Fleming and Pat Sajak, too. Neither could hold a candle to Alex (though Pat seemed like a genuinely nice man).
Fight hard, Alex. We're pulling for you.

The Jeopardy! website currently shows tickets available for Saturday Mar 30th AM/PM. Would they really tape on a Saturday, or is that a mistake?

could be "sold out" that quick with the current situation. Also, I kind of remember hearing of Saturday tapings in the past, and this would make a little sense since I'm guessing he missed a few and they would be playing catch up.morbeedo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 1:06 pmThe Jeopardy! website currently shows tickets available for Saturday Mar 30th AM/PM. I've been unable to get to the board recently, but wanted to add that I'm praying for Alex also.

I'd rather cuddle then have sex. If you're into grammar, you'll understand.

Here is an article where he talks about the pain of the treatments were so bad he broke down and cried on the set. It said the producers offered to cancel the tapings, but he toughed it out.
A difficult article to read about him, but good to know he is giving it all he has. It also says a lot about his dedication to his job.

Re: Alex Trebek Announces Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer
That certainly is great news. Unfortunately, with pancreatic cancer, Alex still has a long way to go to recovery. Let’s all hope that he’s one of the few who beats the odds.
On a related topic, does anyone else believe that Holzhauer’s run is a gift for Alex? He is obviously enjoying the run though I think he enjoyed Jennings’ run more.
