Re: Friday, October 25, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
The match was reasonably close at DD2 on clue 12 with Kris at 12600 and Jamie at 10200 and then Kris hit hit some kind of turbo switch on the dashboard and whoosh!
Ouch for Jamie at 6600 after the J! round and then only 8600 for the FJ! round although it was enough to get the $2000.
Alex wisecracked on Jamie and Kris for their FJ! response spelling adding an extra "e" and said:
You made it sound like getting voting rights would make you sore.
That's the Canadian spelling obviously.
I matched Erin to get the 60% instead of 40% for the week and now I have this song in my head: On Monday should we expect Alex to make a Canadian exchange remark about Kris and his huge winnings?

Looks like there is a typo on Erin's pre-FJ score. At first, I thought "whoa, another James!"

Impressive comeback in FJ by tonight's trio. Took me a few seconds to stumble upon the correct noun. 4/5 on the week, as Leadville was my Waterloo.(I don't think Waterloo would be my Leadville, though)
Bonus points for those who can name the recording artist who employed a form of the word in a song title.

He probably knew better, just added the extra syllable for singing purposes.OntarioQuizzer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 11:29 amUnlike Paul, at least David pronounced the word "properly".Hugo Z wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 11:26 am Impressive comeback in FJ by tonight's trio. Interesting how after a painful week with INCREDIBLY tough FJ's, they end it off with an absurdly easy one.
Either way, congrats to Kris for getting by FAR the greatest payday out of anyone this week! I wish him retroactive good luck going forward.

Women's _______, a FJ? Sure J! writers. Thank goodness it was a lock, it would've sucked to have a slam dunk like that hand the win to the leader.
NBA legend/coach ____ Kidd (my precall), a TS, even with a picture. Either there were no sports fans up there, or I'm getting old.

jeopardy contestants showing once again they are atrocious with sports and they also continue to demonstrate how bad they are with african geography...there are 4 rivers on that continent that everyone should know...one was erased by a wrong answer, the nile was obviously not going to be correct, which then leaves niger and zambezi...niger is north, so what else was it going to be?xxaaaxx wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 7:39 pm Women's _______, a FJ? i've said for a while if there was 1/2 sports 1/2 geography game, i would do pretty well...the 2 Achilles heels of most jeopardy people

Re: Friday, October 25, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I was in the audience for the taping for this episode and the previous one. There was a big group of pancreatic cancer survivors and supporters who showed up wearing purple shirts. If the show said anything about them I missed it. There was a shot of them in the audience before one of the commercial breaks. It was nice that they came out to show support.
I got FJ right. I might have spelled it wrong.

I had a dream that I was asleep and then I woke up and Jeopardy! was on.

Re: Friday, October 25, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I was hoping for another TS so I could brag that I went 4 for 5 in a week with only one get.
Re: Friday, October 25, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Very much an off day for me with only a $10,000 Coryat. 0/5 in Eastern Conference, Western Conference, and Kidd Stuff.
Bit on the "espresso" negbait at $200, ended up getting the next four in Foreign Words.
Recognized everything but Dayton Accords in '90s Newsmakers but kept blanking on the names. Also blanked on Lindbergh and Tarantino.
There's a "Pro Bowl"?!?
I could have taken 400 guesses on Western Conference for $400 and never gotten to United Nations. That whole category was way above my head and felt extremely YEKIOYD.
What was the TOM for New York on Kidd for $400? If it's "Montauk" then that's a very thin TOM with only 7 prior hits, none of which have required pairing it with NY.
Absolutely no guess on FJ!, nor even any idea what to put down. Didn't see a single TOM in the clue. How was this a triple get? HOW?!?

Can the producers legally change the Friday FJ to a softball in order to avoid a low percentage FJ week?

FJ was definitely a WECIB? Pretty softball after a fairly tough week.
