Rob, Dhruv and Rachel drew as best as any of them could hope to in the Tuesday game.

Wow, the powers set a Gold match on Thursday and gave Emma no favors with that draw.

As expected the high game winners were separated.

Fingers crossed the Wednesday FJ! clue is easy to get Alan to the second week.

The table is set to give James some combination of winners/wildcards from the M-Tu games and he may not even have to face any remaining muscle from the Th-F games.

Please let there be a sports category on the Friday game.

I'm hoping for BIBLICAL REFERENCES IN CLASSICAL MUSIC, but I suppose that's less likely.

Steven is a sports industry consultant and Ryan played in the infamous Football category fail game.

so you want steven to be able to own since he supposedly has an edge in that category due to his job? holzhauer missed some easy layup sports clues during his run and we know he is involved in sports, so it isn't a given that dude would dominate

Francois got, I think, 6/15 in sports clues from full categories, so sure he could get something. Steven would have an advantage although I recall his background was baseball/swimming. If it is football then Alex could be tipped off to give Ryan a ribbing when announcing the category.

My comment was only in recalling one contestant's memorable fail and another person's job title. Perhaps a physics category will show up to put Francois on the spot?

Monday: Anneke
Tuesday: Rob
Wednesday: James
Thursday: Emma
Friday: Ryan - he might trail entering FJ, but I have a weird feeling he's going to pull another ridiculous comeback out of his butt somehow

WC: Steven
Dhruv
Lindsey
Eric or Josh (I can't decide)

Very excited to see all of these folks playing again, and good retro-active luck everyone!

- I see scenarios where all three players in each of the W/Th/F games advance, but that of course can't happen. I'll bet on at least one and maybe two top 5 players (by games or MB's tier system) being gone by the end of the first week. Thursday has three of the four best players in the field, IMO.

- I'm all in on #TeamEmma. I think I had James/Emma/Eric in the Finals in July and I'll amend that slightly for James/Emma/..Steven? IDK really.

Winners of Quarterfinals: Kyle, Rob, James, Eric, Steven (can't speak for Francois on the last one since I skipped the Teachers Tournament this year)

How about a prediction on the Bears game? I have the Bears and gave it a 4 for ranking as they and the Bolts have not been who I thought they were so far this season. It's like the Bucs/Titans with who knows what's going to happen in it.

For predicting ToC results off the lineup? Someone will probably surprise and someone will probably flop out early. A lot will depend on who gets which FJ! clues as very likely there will be a hard one and an easy one mixed with others more on the same level of difficulty.

What I do is look at all the predicted winners here for each game and if a name is not mentioned at all, then that is one to put in the surprise column.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say Anneke will be the sole advance from day 1.

I would say Rob is the favorite for Tuesday but I'm also gonna say that Rachel will make it through, as she has had the most preparation besides Gilbert and a pretty lucky draw.

I think Lindsey can keep up with James on the buzzer and has a very high knowledge base. Can she do well enough to make it through the round though is a reasonable question. Alan is good but he got a pretty unlucky draw here and he's gonna probably need to rely on FJ to get him through.

Oh man, Thursday is such a tough one. I honestly think all will advance, but Emma will eek out a victory between the three. Or Josh. Or Eric. Man I don't know. They certainly didn't go easy on Emma being that she was the discretion pick.

Friday is a tough fight as well. I could very well see Ryan pulling off a crazy comeback, but I'd say it's likely either Francois or Steven's for the taking.

Winners - Anneke, Rob, James, Emma, Francois.
Wildcards - Rachel, Josh, Eric, Steven.
sup, i'm bliss.
