J!6 clue this morning

Post by mas3cf »

The clue was, "A major pandemic of the plague, the Black Death, devastated England in this century."

Thinking England was TOM for the 1665 Plague of London, I said 17th... but of course, they were talking about the Europe-wide plague of the 14th century. Not sure whether you can call the 1665 plague a "major pandemic". I think so, but the 14th century one was more major. Judges?

Didn't a board member post he has the job now? Or was that just for the summer reruns?

I don't think the 1665 plague was called the Black Death.

Ah, true. I had always thought of "Black Death" as synonymous with "bubonic plague" but it looks like it does indeed refer specifically to the 14th c. event. Thanks!
