$11,000 + FJ

I am quite surprised at the very low get rate for Bosnia. What else were people saying?
Mark Barrett mentioned North Macedonia which used to have "former Yugoslav Republic" right in its (provisional) name. I suspect most of us clammed. On a DD, I'd probably gone with Serbia or Croatia. After the reveal, I realized that Bosnia sounded familiar as a place for war atrocities. But I've gotten used to it being Bosnia and Herzegovina and have developed a dislike for choosing it as a response because it takes too long to type on Sporcle.
Sg for North Macedonia and not me.

They both are. But how did I manage to type "good-lucking" for "good-looking"? I'm on a PC, so no autocorrect or anything. Weird. I went back and edited it, but I'm copping to the typo here so people don't think you're quoting me wrong.

If the TC didn't include them on purpose, I agree with his omission. I figure that in the sport of a 4th podium game, the DD's shouldn't apply unless they were discovered immediately after a TS. Then we could make a play for them.

Space permitting, I sometimes include them but specify that they don't count toward a fourth podium win. This time I didn't feel like doing the extra work.

Why do I keep screwing up Turandot clues...ffs.

I've seen that puritanism quote before, but couldn't come up with the -ism in time.

Given some of the low get rates on what seem like much easier clues, 80% for 'animation cell' is my "did I grow up on a different planet!?" cultural moment of the month. Usually happens with "common" words/phrases.

That's $13k + FJ by my count.

EDIT: smilies changed. All the unhappy faces were clams; the Turandot one just pissed me off.

Not according to the emojis you chose. The sad face ( :( ) means you missed it and must deduct the dollar amount of the clue from your total. If you really meant to say you clammed on those clues, use the neutral face ( :| ). If you do that, and if we interpret the evil face ( ) as a clam, then you get $13k. If we treat only the evil face as a clam and the sad faces as negs, you get $12k. If we treat only the evil face as a neg and the two sad faces as clams, you get $11k. Under all of these interpretations, you're sitting pretty and win the game with a proper wager. But... if the evil face is a neg AND the sad faces are negs, you get $10k and lose from the 4th podium.
