Yeah, "Item cannot be found." If you find something you like on Archive.org, you have to download it quick!

It's still up there, I'm downloading it now. Weirdly, you need to have the period at the end of the URL for it to work.Bamaman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 8:06 pmI clicked on the link and it said the video had been taken down.kingskip wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 7:53 pm I found this old Wheel episode from the first season aired on GSN in the mid 90s and the intro to a Season 1 Jeopardy episode is at the end. I see the period but I am still getting the same message. Could you possibly post it (or at least just the J part) as I am curious about seeing it.

I'm at work. Type Jeana Kevin Lucy in the archive.org search then, if adding the period in the address bar doesn't work.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
It would nice to have a Tom Waters game in the Archive (he's interviewed in Ken Jennings's "Brainiac" as a quiz bowl legend), and it would be nice to archive from such a clear video. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, and maybe the rest of it will show up sometime.kingskip wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 7:53 pm I found this old Wheel episode from the first season aired on GSN in the mid 90s and the intro to a Season 1 Jeopardy episode is at the end. Re: New old games in the J! Archive
GSN's "originally aired" bug appears in the corner and says January 1985. Here's how I transcribed the intros:
A marketing executive originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Gail Sherman
A commodities broker from Chicago, Illinois, Jim Verlin
Our returning champion, a sporting goods salesman from Savannah, Georgia, Tom Waters, whose cash winnings total $12,800
Jim's last name is the most questionable to me.

I found it amusing the winner on WOF had a grand total of $1,825.

I suspect not. This page more or less says his collegiate career lasted from 1979 to 1986, which means he's probably pushing 60 at this point, and surely wasn't 67 last year.Bamaman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 9:04 pmIs this him?MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 8:57 pm It would nice to have a Tom Waters game in the Archive (he's interviewed in Ken Jennings's "Brainiac" as a quiz bowl legend), and it would be nice to archive from such a clear video. Re: New old games in the J! Archive
Any chance of a link to audio-video of DD3? I want to see if I ran the category.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 11:59 pm I added 2/22/91: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=4760
with Dana Bacon, Andy Westney and Julie Knauer.
Dana must still cringe anything he hears a movie/TV show that uses that cliched bit of music from DD3 as an establishing audio cue.
Great game. The contestants were loose and frisky. Dana almost ran the OLD TESTAMENT category, but Andy managed to get a buzzer in edgewise on one clue. I'm betting Dana knew it though. I'd classify this as medium for a Bible category--nothing really obscure but no total softballs either. I hope it would go 5 for 5 in a regular play game today, but maybe not.
FJ's a definite IEOTYOD.
Spoiler
It Either Occurs To You Or Doesn't. Different from YEKIOD in that I think most contestants have the knowledge (though perhaps teens don't quite yet). But in a frantic mental search of the world map, it's easy to get lost thousands of miles away and just never make it to the right place. I got there and I'm glad all three contestants did as well. This was a clean win for Andy, with Dana and Julie able to hold their heads high.

The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Woohoo! Ran the category. Thank you. Contestants were 2/5 so they were right to save it for last.

If Dana had been $1,000 less aggressive on it, he would have won the tournament.

Can hardly blame him for being aggressive, though, seeing how he was coming from behind after that first day of the finals.seaborgium wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 12:37 am If Dana had been $1,000 less aggressive on it, he would have won the tournament.
