Had no idea the old boy was still alive. Thanks for posting this. I remember loving his 1969 novel The Dueling Machine in my early teens. It was pitched perfectly to my adolescent nerd brain, complete with a chaste romance. I read it several times and couldn't understand why it wasn't optioned by Hollywood and turned into a movie. That's still a possibility, guys! With today's CGI, it wouldn't even have to cost that much.

Ben Bova was the original editor of Omni, a very influential part of My Trivia Childhood. Rest in peace.

There are already allegations that this performance is how he caught it.

Everything I've read says Phil Spector died of natural causes. Are you certain about the COVID connection?

Second paragraph of the New York Times obituary, for one: "The cause was complications of Covid-19, his daughter, Nicole Audrey Spector, said. He was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, Calif., on Dec. 31 and intubated in January, she said."

That is true, by common definition, but that label certainly lacks death-certificate type precision.
