$1000: That's "Mr. November" to you

Correct responses:

Blanked on Jeter.

I've definitely seen Jeter and Jackson in person. It's possible I saw Banks, but I would have been too young to realize/remember. Definitely never saw Williams and fairly certain I never saw Johnson.

Ran it. This is cake for most baseball fans, but particularly Yankees fans with Mr. November.

I have seen Randy Johnson (during his Yankee years, unfortunately) and Jeter play in person.

Don't recall seeing Randy Johnson play though may have. Definitely saw Reggie Jackson when he was on the A's.

My dad got Williams before I could pull his name, but I think I would have come up with that, so I gave myself credit. Just $200 and $400 for me, which I count as a victory.

I’ve seen Reggie, Randy, and Jeter. One time I was stuck in traffic near La Guardia and Derek Jeter was in the next lane.

Easy run for me. Never been to any MLB games, so no on seeing these people in person.

I bet a certain ex-champ from earlier this week who had two interview anecdotes related to baseball would've loved this category.

I'm not surprised that Ted is getting a lot of love here, but would be surprised if he is as well known to Gen-Xers and beyond. (Same applies to Ernie I suppose). The straw that stirs the drink and blowing up seagulls helps with the other two.
I wasn't going to get Jeter and barely remember the circumstances for such a late Series. I get him and A-Rod mixed up, which really pisses off Yankee fans, which just delights me even more :).

Got Williams and Jackson, and would have gotten Johnson if I had a few more seconds.

I've seen Reggie play for the Angels, Jeter when the Angels were playing the Yankees, and saw Johnson when the Angels played the Mariners (and maybe the Yankees). I'm too young to have seen Banks or Williams.

Blanked on Jeter.
Have seen Randy Johnson in person several times as a D-Back at Coors Field. Watching him pitch was awe-inspiring, watching him bat always elicited grins.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Seen Johnson and Jeter play. Still bummed, though, that I missed out on seeing Johnson’s perfect game live against the Braves in 2004. I was living in Atlanta at the time and was considering going to the game because Johnson was pitching, but it had rained most of the day before the game, and didn’t want to deal with the weather. My loss.

I saw Randy Johnson at least once, while he was with the Astros in 1998:

I saw Derek Jeter several times during his career -- this was the most recent:

Seagulls put me more in mind of Dave Winfield, who was called "Mr. May" by George Steinbrenner. I was happy not to see that one appear, though I might have swept the category if it had. As it is, I missed Jeter, who I have seen, along with Jackson.
I'm smart and I want respect.

I don't watch baseball, but I do watch ESPN. This would have been my first category picked once I had control, and hopefully would have matched Syed's free $3000

Answered all 5 correctly.

I went with Dad to a Reds-Diamondbacks game at Cinergy Field (formerly Riverfront Stadium) in 1999; Randy Johnson was on the Diamondbacks, but did not pitch that night.
