Fixed it, thanks. I like that clue since I had the correct response as soon as I heard Garry Moore & Steve Allen. When archiving the audio games I listen to the first part of the clue and type it in and find it fun to guess the correct response based on partial wording.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 3:16 amLooks like J15 is missing a "longest-".MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 10:13 pm From a TuneIn recording here is 10/9/90: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7531
Yes, there are still gaps between what was already in the archive and what is available through TuneIn, so no 10/8/90 at this time.
Both the correct woman and incorrect woman are still alive as of this posting. Alex is usually pretty good about naming an incorrect response, so perhaps Pete wrote nothing or "Who is"?

Should there be an "in" before 1815 in the FJ answer?MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:59 pm Courtesy of Elaine herself I added 3/2/90: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7535

Alex giving the writing tip before revealing the FJ! clue could also serve at a hint to solving the clue.

Kathleen was announced with Merryman Archbold and Alex said it at chat, but the graphic only had Kathleen Archbold. Kathleen's dress looked a lot like one Kait Waits wore on the show.
Elaine, thanks for the games and congrats on the five wins and two tourney appearances.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
Courtesy the TuneIn recordings, Mark Born Game 2 (1991-06-21) is now in. This game ended up #4 for the best one-day total in the pre-doubled dollar values era.

Things were a breeze for all involved... until DJ28.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I remember watching a game in the early '90s (necessarily between 1990 and 1992) where Alex tried to cite the current one-day record at the end of DJ, but said $36,000 instead of $30,600 and had to correct himself before the FJ reveal. Not remembering anything else about it, I've long assumed it could be the game where Mark Born scored big. Can you verify whether Alex made any such remarks?OntarioQuizzer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 4:25 pm Courtesy the TuneIn recordings, Mark Born Game 2 (1991-06-21) is now in. Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I don't recall it happening in this game, but I do recall hearing those words at some point when watching to/listening to a game in the last six months. I don't think it happened in this game, though.seaborgium wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 11:27 pm I remember watching a game in the early '90s (necessarily between 1990 and 1992) where Alex tried to cite the current one-day record at the end of DJ, but said $36,000 instead of $30,600 and had to correct himself before the FJ reveal. Yes—I emailed TuneIn asking for it and they've begun adding prizes to their more recently cut episodes.

There were a few things I guessed on or could not tell what I heard (starting right off the bat in J1) and I got some of what was said in the FJ! round, but not all of it.
It's near impossible to guess exactly what the players wrote.

It's amazing what some people can do if they get past that first game.
Margaret would be a candidate for the SCC 1991 version.

For FJ, "borne" is that word's identity, not born.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 11:43 pm From a TuneIn recording here is 6/20/91: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7544

Fixed, thanks. I pasted the wording from the resource into the FJ! box and all I had to do was copy it exactly as shown. My bad. Yes, I'll blame the champ's surname.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:35 amFor FJ, "borne" is that word's identity, not born.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 11:43 pm From a TuneIn recording here is 6/20/91: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7544

Having listened to the game on TuneIn, I was wondering how you were going to comment on how that Final played out.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 11:43 pm From a TuneIn recording here is 6/20/91: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7544
