Was it this?

He also ran for president on the far-right Populist Party ticket in 1984, espousing a platform that called for abolishing personal income taxes, cutting the federal budget in half, repudiating the national debt, deporting illegal immigrants and denying the right to vote to anyone on welfare for more than a year.

These are liberal views in today's GOP. They aren't far from Reagan's check boxes at the time either.

I didn't know he was still alive but remember his Wheaties fame. I didn't remember his political side. He was the among the last of the stiff-pole vaulters. You have to carry/run with the pole with a spread hand grip and slide your hands together on takeoff. Now you keep the hands apart and push it with your lower arm to initiate the bending. It's all about speed - he/she who carries the biggest stick and runs the fastest will go the highest.

I'm glad he lived to see a black President. I hope his Wiki page gets updated to show his disgusting misanthropy.

This Spring marks the 50th anniversary of when the incredibly bad musical remake of "Lost Horizon" came out. This film was so bad that it was the actual cause of the break-up of the classic songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David and (coincidentally?) the Fifth Dimernson's last top 40 hit was a song from this movie ("Living Together, Growing Together").

For the last couple of years, now that I'm old enough to remember that far back, I always look up things that happened 50 years ago and I came across this song from "Lost Horizon" that basically describes Jeopardy, OK, maybe the stereotype for Celebrity Jeopardy.

I used to be AWSOP but wanted to be more theatrical.

Wow, never heard of this! A fan of the classic Capra original. In his autobiography he claims he fixed the movie by burning the first two reels. Skeptics doubt the story. One bit not doubted was that Capra shot much of the film at below freezing temperatures in an industrial cold storage facility in an attempt to avoid the disaster that befell his lead actor Hobart Bosworth in the earlier film Dirigible (1931). Capra and Bosworth ruined Bosworth's mouth by trying to have Bosworth hold dry ice in his mouth so as to convincingly simulate cold air breath while filming in Los Angeles heat.

I'm sure there are larger sets, but made recently?...

Behold... BONANZA on DVD! https://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-t ... 32123-1000
The massive set includes all 14 seasons—431 episodes—on 112 discs, and the series has been completely remastered from the original 35 mm camera negatives.
According to the Amazon page, it's almost 17 pounds...
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Everything Everywhere All at Once (10), Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (6), Black Sunday /1960/ (6), Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (7)

After I watched this video

that was posted on another JBoard thread a few days ago, a steady stream of Oingo Boingo/Danny Elfman content has infiltrated my YouTube feed. This one was great:

Danny Elfman is great. I've been more into his classical music endeavors over the film scores these days, but I long for the time when the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo wreaked havoc across the universe. 8-)

Contestant: Grow plants.
Sherpa is an ethnicity, not an occupation. You could definitely hire a Sherpa to help with horticulture.

The clue with the theme came pretty easily once I came to it, and then the rest fell in place. Well done for a Thursday.
