#5 is pertinent.
Thankfully it's not #22, so I can scroll down and see what it was before the register-wall hits.

This is kind of random, but I enjoyed it and wanted to share. Think music played on a church organ.

I'm loving it even more now that Jethro Tull wasn't included.

If it's such an obvious response that even -I- precall it...I'd rather be challenged than get a free R

I was incensed that the Marshall Tucker Band wasn’t included either. ;)

It's paywalled, and I don't agree with most of her premises, but here ya go:

I don't think she agrees with her own premise:
But in recent years the show is not the same staple it once was. The death of Alex Trebek may have created a war of host succession, but the show was cracking even before then....Jeopardy is thriving...the show isn’t broken yet. The transformation of how Jeopardy is played reflects how information may evolve, but the desire to beat people at trivia remains the same. As long as there are new answers to tell and questions to ask, Jeopardy will remain strong...
pavolving - does she mean pavloving? Not a good definition...And I don't think I've ever seen it as a gerund before...(I have - 11 hits in this forum, but some are verbs... ;) )

Nice. Always interesting to know what's being said.

Yeah, right up front, she says Holzhauer won by developing "a riskier style of play". Yeah. No. That makes it sound as though he increased his chances of winning big by accepting a compensating risk that he would lose spectacularly. That's not what happened. She even points out in the next sentence that his style of "darting around the board" (not an entirely accurate description for his systematic movements) actually increased his chances of finding DDs. Nothing "risky" about that unless you're afraid of winning.

It's also interesting that she mentions how prepping for Jeopardy! has changed what with the internet, and instructional books, and Holzhauer's example among others. But she doesn't include the single biggest game-changer: the j-archive.

Still, it's overall not a bad summary.

Yogesh taking some heat in the press and social media:

Some pretty sour grapes level stuff by Yogesh, I must say.

Well, that escalated quickly.

While some would see it all as no chance for Yogesh coming back, I say Davies & Co. can see an opportunity for a ToC return to make things a little more interesting.

Yeah it's not really clear what he's upset about from his social media posts/statements. He won almost $100K and lost fair and square, so there's not much for him to be objectively bitter about. I understand his frustration in having to wait so long to finally get the call to be on the show, but he did get the call and chose to appear. At the end of the day Jeopardy requires a different set of skills than bar trivia and online trivia, sometimes that works to the advantage of a player and sometimes it's to their disadvantage. He did well, won a big payday, and I hope he can be happy about being in the elite company of 3-day J champions.

If you think Jeopardy is beneath you as a Serious Trivia Guy (lmao) don't audition. Having this meltdown is embarrassing.

Nobody who thinks about it for a minute believes that the show is a fair test of knowledge. It's television. Wagering and the buzzer make it good TV. If you can't handle that trade off, nobody is making you try out.

Also, he won almost 100k and he's still mad for some reason.

I wonder what percentage of viewers even know who Yogesh and Troy are in the “quizzing community”. If I didn’t post here I wouldn’t.
