Think Different 476 (Final Scores Posted)

Post by gamawire »

Quick TD – I have missed these and hope you have, too!

1) Your score for each question is equal to the total number of players submitting the same answer; low score wins.
2) You may use one drop and take zero points for one question.
3) Wrong responses will be scored as the most popular ("sheep") answer +4.
4) No cheating – all responses must come from your own brain.
5) Submit answers (and any questions) via PM. Entries due by Monday, September 26, at 11:11 PM CDT.

QUESTIONS:
1. Name someone who has portrayed Winston Churchill in a film.
2. Name an Eon James Bond film.
3. Name one of QEII’s grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
4. Name a color of one of the crayons in Crayola’s 16-count box.
5. Name a current female governor.
6. Name a city with a federal reserve bank.
7. Identify the book by its last line:
"On the second day, a sail drew near, nearer, and picked me up at last. It was the devious-cruising Rachel, that in her retracing search after her missing children, only found another orphan."
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
“He loved Big Brother.”
“Don’t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.”
“The old man was dreaming about the lions.”
"Tomorrow, I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day."
"Then starting home, he walked toward the trees, and under them, leaving behind him the big sky, the whisper of wind voices in the wind-bent wheat."
“The knife came down, missing him by inches, and he took off.”
“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”
“He would be there all night, and he would be there when Jem waked up in the morning."
"It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
"Max stepped into his private boat and waved goodbye and sailed back over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day and into the night of his very own room where he found his supper waiting for him—and it was still hot."
"Oh, my girls, however long you may live, I never can wish you a greater happiness than this."
"He was soon borne away by the waves and lost in darkness and distance."
“When they tried to detach the skeleton which he held in his embrace, he fell to dust.”
“Are there any questions?”

Enjoy!!

If it's possible, could you tell me what the Eon in question 2 means?

Guess y'all didn't miss TDs as much as I did! Only 7 entries so far - questions too hard? Too easy? Come on - give it a whirl!

Couldn't decide whether to drop #1 or another one later - looks like I made the wrong choice there.

Nice to see some more late entries - though that reduces my chances of finishing in the top 10. ;)

I was so sure Hopkins was right. Must have been thinking of Hitchcock. Glad I'm not the only one (since you don't get extra penalized for someone else guessing the same wrong answer).
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?
