Why does Celebrity J! get a good FJ! clue & real J! gets this garbage?

Re: Monday, September 26, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Friends saved Sue from a skunk round as she finally got in on J30.
David was +5800 on DD1 & DD3 while Michael would still have been locked even with a solve on DD2 where he lost 2000.
The FJ! had me off base looking for fancy and I wrote In Style (seen afterwards it's InStyle) to avoid a blank page and during think time thought Architectural Digest would have been a better guess.
The players seemed as beaten on the clue with their 3 varied guesses.
The correct response? Probably playing at LL speed I would have connected the dots before submitting.
For winning player position this season:

Fixed, thanks.gameshowfandanny wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 1:34 pmActually, David had $11,800 before that last Daily Double. With $1,800, he wouldn't have been able to bet $4,000.

This was a good board for me getting 52/60, with four of those misses in "POP MUSIC"

I did happen to get Final right, but with a tiny confidence level. I was surprised by the fact that no one else tried it though.
Was there anything obvious pointing to "chalk" rather than "eraser" in this clue?

Kedudes & Weimy are makers of the dustless type of this, used in classrooms

Guessed Cosmopolitan to no avail.
I have a fun poll request: I got COUNTRY MEN & WOMEN for $600 because I knew where Alice Munro was from, more than Shawn Mendes.

My 6th missed FJ in a row. Said Dancing Magazine just to say something.

Guessed GQ for FJ. I was expecting it to be a fashion or society magazine and it seems the players agreed.
Glad Sue got in on J30 and was able to battle back and make FJ.

Re: Monday, September 26, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
The only annual issue of a magazine that's tied to a party that I could think of was Vanity Fair's Oscar issue. (Time has had a party for its "most influential people" issue but that's a recent feature of the magazine...) I figured 400 was important but just didn't key in to the Forbes connection. And there is no party...
Even if I'd thought of the "list" thing I might have gone with Fortune instead of Forbes. They used to come across my desk occasionally, but I can't remember the last time I saw a hard copy of Fortune or Forbes, let alone thought about their lists...

Rich people? 400? Gotta be Forbes (once I’d de-conflated it with Fortune)

I thought it was Vogue, thinking it was tied to the Met Gala or a similar fashion event.

Coryat: $38,000
44 R (3 DDs), 1 W
FJ: Very unconfidently guessed Sports Illustrated based solely on "now-annual issue".
LT: Norway, patrician, Montblanc (DD), Blue Mountains, Gertrude, sloop
