Re: Tuesday, November 29, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Cris named his studio lunch choice. Yeah, that's what happens when you win 16 games. Salad with chickpeas & chicken and a banana. Last time the commissary was out of bananas and Cris had an apple.
Matt Harvey is another contestant to match the name of a "famous" person and he was cruising like the Mets pitcher the first two times through the line-up. Cris got him on a grand slam the third time around.
Cris and his DD hunting was a little off as one clue in CAST UPON THE WATERS to find out it was movies, should have told him to get out of there.
Ken loves to throw in political comments and today it was "Famously fun" to describe a recent VP.
The FJ! clue was about as fast as one can be solved & written. Matt is lucky his fail cost him nothing other than a better look for a SCC chance.

Re: Tuesday, November 29, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Talk about red herrings! What does Mr. Brown being the "only man" have to do with it?? In retrospect, I should have realized the clue was just Name the famous plaintiff from 1951 with extra words, but I cast around. for a famous '50s case on women's rights that must be eluding me...
Again I wonder how far from the monitors players are. G.B.Shaw has a pretty well-known look, not sure why that was tough. The Naguib Mahfouz clue should also have been easy...

As does Oscar Wilde. (Plus Wilde died before the Nobels were first awarded, but that's more showing off than anything.)
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I felt DD2 was ridiculously easy for a second round, bottom row clue.
Who else failed to recognize RFK?
On the other hand, I did recognize Harry Truman.
LT: Truman, Yosemite
That clue fooled me into guessing Dan Quayle for some reason.MarkBarrett wrote: Ken loves to throw in political comments and today it was "Famously fun" to describe a recent VP.

Understandable, since the clue said he was from Indiana...but he looked a lot like Mike Pence...maybe before the fun was removed...Category 13 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:09 am I felt DD2 was ridiculously easy for a second round, bottom row clue. That clue fooled me into guessing Dan Quayle for some reason.MarkBarrett wrote: Ken loves to throw in political comments and today it was "Famously fun" to describe a recent VP.
I thought the pic was JFK before the clue said "after WW2." Then I changed to Ted... Truman was much easier.

Absolutely crushed Shaw, Truman, Yosemite, chocolate, isomer and vasodilation, surprising even myself. That I also had Megatron, Cobra and Ferris wheel wouldn't surprise anyone who knows me (my college made a big deal out of being founded the same year the first Ferris wheel was unveiled) but might have given a complete stranger pause.Shaquebanisa wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:37 pm Coryat: $29,000

I want to see the Pannullo bracket in the next Second Chance week. Matt is the fourth or fifth high quality challenger who would fit in that group of games. (Davo, I hope you're reading this!)

Re: Tuesday, November 29, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Brown v Board of Ed came to mind immediately but that didn’t fit in my mind with “class action” in the clue. I couldn’t think of anything else and wrote Brown with little hope.
I’m going to have to start noting them. There was at least one clue in almost every game lately that is worded so awkwardly that I’m just not actually clear what’s being asked. Is anyone else experiencing that more lately?

Re: Tuesday, November 29, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
The last two games have seen challengers that gave Cris a run for his money on the signalling button, only for him to go all in on a DD in the DJ! round. He seems to have a good sense of when to take the leap.
