The archive hits are a useful tool. In my opinion, any post in this thread should include at least one archive hit. Otherwise, if there are no archive hits, it’s almost certainly not Jeopardy canon.

My two cents.

Walter Cunningham — the last surviving astronaut from the 1968 Apollo 7 mission — died at 90 on Jan. 3 in Houston, NASA confirmed. Apollo 7 was the first manned flight of the Apollo program. It marked a return to human spaceflight following the fire that killed three Apollo 1 astronauts in 1967.

Guitarist Jeff Beck, age 78, from bacterial meningitis. Beck has often been cited as one of the greatest guitarists ever (landing at #5 on Rolling Stone's Top 100 list) and replaced Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds when Clapton went solo. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as part of the Yardbirds and once as a solo artist.
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

She made it more than a decade longer than her dad, but that still way too young. :(

Meanwhile, her mom is, at least for me, in the category of "that person is still alive?"

Singer and songwriter Barrett Strong, at age 81. He had an early Motown hit singing "Money (That's What I Want)," and then wrote the lyrics to a number of other Motown hits (with Norman Whitfield writing the music): "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "War," and "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," among many others.
