Troy ended the J! round with, "Bring it" to select the J30 clue. Ken, of course, knew what that meant to quickly mention Sam.

In four games Troy is 6/12 finding the DDs. Something is slightly off with his heat map or the writers are getting more sneaky with placement. So far it does not matter as the opponents have not or cannot do enough with the remaining DDs to prevent a lock.

I'll keep the FJ! clue at 100% as those kind of dots I can connect. My only hesitation was to make sure my vowels were correct when writing the name.

4x & $137,600 has to be enough for the ToC with the shortened qualifying window and I wonder if Troy gets a 5th win if he could then take a run at putting Roger's and Ken's 77K & 75K a notch down the one-day ladder. All of the skills are there to potentially do it.

I'm going to say yes to all, making it a hard one to get wrong on spelling.

trash: fraud, antifreeze, Arcadia, lavender,

World Lit is a weak spot, but 1950's + "lecher" made it easy.

I haven't been keeping track over multiple games. Today I predicted both DJ DDs--both category and dollar amount. Missed the SJ.

in "symbols" for $1200, i'm pretty sure that i heard troy say " til' da " twice. ken accepted it.
but that squiggle over a spanish "n" is called (and spelled) a " til ' de " (pronounced til' day ).
i would have bounced the response.

The question was whether Troy said the d the first time...

My boomer dad would drive me nuts using what I later understood were somewhat archaic anglicized forms (as opposed to mispronunciations) like "TIL-dah" and "SOY-ah". Whenever I went to the dictionary to prove him wrong, I would always get schooled. (Another one that he used that always grated on me was "MORE-eez" for the word "mores", as in "social mores". Totally acceptable pronunciation!)

Anyway, if you're going to go with the Spanish pronunciation, it wouldn't be "TIL-day", but more like "TEEL-day".

The very instant that Der Rosenkavalier clue came up, I predicted that someone would say Strauss and would get a BMS and then would say Johann.

FJ was particularly easy for me since I'm currently reading Reading Lolita in Tehran. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten it right anyway.

I don't think I've ever heard tilde pronounced "til-day." I pronounce it so the e is like the e in pen. Pronouncing it with a schwa at the end seems to be the most common American English pronunciation. That's how I thought I heard Troy saying it. I erased the recording before I read this thread, so I can't go back and check.
