Re: Tuesday, June 6, 2023 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Jared's 19800 to 6600 Coryat edge was doomed by 0/3 on wagering clues.
Jared leaves 2/4 on FJ! clues and 5/10 on DDs. That has to stink to lose with a big edge overall and then miss a FJ! clue both of the challengers do solve. The CWC must make such circumstances much easier for players on their way out of the studio.
Suresh was 2/2 on wagering clues to overcome whatever problems there were with the buzzer and clues.
I matched the challengers on the FJ! clue because to me it seemed clear that was the way to go.
The Jeopardy! Fan shows that once again the Ws and TS count was double digits for each.
A heads for those here that do not check in on Andy's site is this feature begun last month that is well worth reading:

If Jared gets either of the DDs he has a lock, assuming Suresh makes the same DD bet that sent Golf into a stroke.
Jared is currently 7th out of 8 three-time champs with 38 games to go.
Instaget FJ.

Two FJ!s in a row where the correct response is an acronym.

Suresh at times looked quite strong. My son correctly pointed out that Suresh gained nothing by betting small in FJ and would have been better served by a bet of $6000, which also covers a $0 wager from Jared. Easy-peasy FJ. I thought that the use of pact steered us away from the UN, which was formed by charter.

I thought UN at first, but I realized 1949 seemed awfully late for that. All of the wagering clues Jared missed today involved European countries in one way or another (though not explicitly in FJ).

I don't care that it was technically pinned by release date and quantity sold, making us name a best selling Eagles album and NOT having it be Their Greatest Hits is negbait.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Re: Tuesday, June 6, 2023 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Well, two in a row where an acronym is a correct response, but only yesterday's show required the acronym. For today's FJ, the players would have been credited with a correct response if they had written "What is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization?", where as spelling out "President of the United States" on yesterday's show would have been negged. In any event I'm not surprised the contestants chose to write the much shorter acronym rather than try to spell out the full name of the organization in the 30 second allotted!Foretopman wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 9:10 pm Two FJ!s in a row where the correct response is an acronym.

For 21ST CENTURY STUFF $1000, I get that they called the pope "Francis I" so they could do that cute repetition of "first," but... it's really not the correct title.
For QUOTABLE NOTABLES $600, the quote itself doesn't seem all that famous; feels like one could plausibly guess at least Oppenheimer, Fermi or Einstein.

My first thought for FJ was United Nations, but that seemed too obvious; the phrase "makes the obligation plain… for us & others" led me to NATO

The UN was earlier, so I figured NATO.
Disturbed by the wording of the clue: NATO is an organization; the pact was the North Atlantic Treaty.

Re: Tuesday, June 6, 2023 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I had a baseball game on during Johnny's opening. so I don't know how he pronounced Deborah's home town.
Folks in and around St. Helena in the Napa Valley pronounce it Saint HeLEENa. Mayim didn't.
In the "wave" category, I wondered if "peristalsis" might have been close enough, but what really bothered me was "...the body slowing down... " instead of "...the body's slowing down..." in the clue.
I think the battle for the use of the possessive with gerunds is a worthwhile one.

I just listened to it. Johnny and MB pronounce it the same, as you have it.
