The board favorite. DD3 is still hiding and Allison has a lock going. Her pick for clue 26? YES, YOU CANAL for $400.

In the blink of an eye the game went from 17000 - 5600 - 2400 to 17000 - 12800 - 4400.

Suresh won with just a 8000 Coryat thanks to farming 2 DDs while Allison did not play one. The FJ! round is there to open up the possibilities of come from behind wins and Suresh has a threepeat doing it with never being in first going into the last clue.

The FJ! clue had me match Suresh as I figured out the company and from there I would hope I would know the capital.

Allison putting up a 17000 Coryat against a 3x (at the minimum) champ would seem to be the type that could return for the SCC.

I mean, we could say the same about going to the category where DD1 was for clue 25...

I got this right for the wrong reason. I assumed it had something to do with the tulip craze.

Could Suresh have justifiably made a smaller wager on FJ?

I thought Allison had some good gets. Too bad she left that DD3.

I wouldn't have thought Suresh will be in ToC conversation after yesterday' game. He has some good gets though.

I've seen enough J! to know where to go for FJ. Alas, it doesn't always work.

I had to wait for London to be declared wrong before deciding the company wasn't Lloyd's.

I took "current European capital" as a hint that it wasn't London.

It wasn’t a crush, so he could justifiably bet zero. But even on a miss he stays above her MSBIW score so he wins if they both miss.

Yes, Allison didn’t help herself with clue selection. The first DD was found on DJ4, so maybe she forgot where it had been. But going to the top of the canal category when second place had about 1/4 of her score was a bad idea.

Good for Suresh for going true DD.

I got FJ on a bit of a guess but it counts just the same.

Yep. He's needed more than a bit of luck to get where he is. But a lot of contestants wouldn't have leveraged the opportunities when they came along.

London was my backup guess as well. I was pretty confident in my Amsterdam guess, like others, at first because of the tulip thing and then, on reflection, for the correct reason. Not a coin flip but maybe an 80-20. Definitely held my breath a little until London was ruled against.

Thanks to Archivists as always, needed this one after getting pre-empted midway through DJ.

Like others, I think I guessed correctly for the wrong reason on Final.

Suresh is getting closer and closer to Aten/Wachspress levels of escape artist.. it's fun, if nothing else!
